I have dined at Zouk Manchester well over 10 times, and have enjoyed it more and more each visit. Unfortuantely on my last visit I was bitterly disappointed with the service. It first started when I had booked in for 20:15 and got seated at 20:45. This is something I understood with the sheer amount of people there, waiting to be seated on a busy Saturday night. When I was seated, I then waited 25 minutes for someone to ask if I was ready to place my order. 25 MINUTES. That is an absolute disgrace. I don't care if the Queen was there and everyone was waiting hand and foot on her. You do not wait 25 minutes for someone to come and take your order. To be fair to Mike (the guy who took our order) he was a great sport, I believe he was a manager. He took our order, as we were particularly parched, we ordered 6 drinks between 3 of us, and we specifically instructed Mike that we'd like the drinks with our food. Low and behold, two minutes later the waitress (with blonde hair, who has excelled in the school of ignorance) then proceeded to place our drinks on the table in which I stated, "Is it possible if we could have them WHEN our food arrives?” She then replied with, 'Sorry, we can't do that on Saturdays". I actually laughed, because I thought it was some sort of in-house Zouk joke. She was deadly serious. Her answer to my rebuttal was, "It's too busy". It's too busy to NOT give drinks until the food has arrived. Absolute shambolic. At the moment our food arrived, it was bland, you could tell it was rushed to be served on a plate and to get you out as soon as possible. I obviously vented my frustration when we left, and Mike was of particular use then when he provided an iota of sense by stating drinks can be served at any time; regardless of the day. This was just one of the many gripes of my dining experience at Zouk. I would carry on; but my fingers are starting to hurt from bashing the keyboard out of anger just reliving the situation. Mike did offer me his personal number so I could give him a call when we do decide to come back again.
