We are frequent visitors to the lovely area of Chorlton Green. We usually eat in one of the many cafés or bistros but decided to try the Horse & Jockey instead as it always looks so appealing front the outside. From the inside however it's actually quite depressing. The bar staff were miserable, the menu uninspiring & there was no friendly or warm atmosphere that you would usually expect from this type of pub.
We ordered at the bar and waited ages for our food despite there not being many tables left in. My husbands chicken burger was ok but for the price you would expect a lot more and my crayfish bloomer was all bloomer and no crayfish. If the waitress would have bothered to come over and ask if everything was ok I would haves said no but she just left us to it. In fact about 3 different members of staff including what looked like the chef walked past and not one even tried to make eye contact.
When we paid the bill again no one bothered to ask if we had enjoyed our lunch. Overall we spent about £30 on a very disappointing lunch and we would not return or recommend to anyone. We'll be sticking to the smaller places in future who welcome and value your custom.
