Just come back from a 2 night stay at these apartments for a weekend away with friends. The check in process was quick and simple, and we arrived a bit early so thought we'd chance it and see if an apartment was ready and it was, so we were able to check in early. The reception area is large, clean and modern and this translates into the apartments. We were very impressed by the decor in the apartment, it was modern and trendy and just what we were after. We on the 13th floor so we had a really good view over the city. In nice weather we definitely would have made more use of the balcony. Towels were nice, and the beds were comfy. Enough glasses, cutlery, plates etc. were provided. Next to the apartments is a Tesco express, the Arndale shopping centre is just up the road by the tram lines and so are lots of other shops/restaurants/banks. The Printworks for a few evening drinks is also just a short walk away.
There were a few things not quite right though. One lift wasn't working, and the other lift was either really quick or really slow. On check out we waited 10 minutes for a lift, it came a couple times but was full of people, so I ended up walking down 13 flights of stairs with a suitcase and still beat my friend who decided to wait for the lift. There is no radiator in the living room, which in summer wouldn't be a problem, but it was cold this weekend! There are also no blinds/curtains for the large glass doors to the balcony so there's no hope of keeping the cold out. In the bathroom the glass door wasn't very big and there was no shower curtain so there was more risk of getting the floor wet. One bedroom didn't have any plug sockets near a mirror, which isn't helpful when women are trying to get ready! There was no ironing board, but there was an iron. No draining board, but there is a washing machine - although with only a couple plates to wash I'd rather do them by hand. The walls could do with a new coat of paint because of scuffs, but it wasn't awful. Walls aren't super thick as we could hear music from another apartment at 02:30am. One sink was leaking but when I mentioned this to reception they had someone come up the next morning and fix it quickly, so that was good service.
These were nice apartments overall, but if they could just think of a few of these little things then they would be great apartments.
