“Brilliant - can't wait to return”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2011

Have stayed at this hotel on two occasions re business and would definitely recommend it to everyone.

The staff are warm and informative the minute you walk through the door. The rooms are fabulous with everything you need from tv, wifi, hairdryer etc.

There were plenty of options for breakfast, including vegetarian and again, the service was first class.

Will definitely return.

We want to say a big thank you to the team at the Crowne Plaza Manchester. Bob and his team made us feel very welcome and we had a great team meeting there with the team at hand to help whenever we needed them. Rooms and food were also fantastic!

Booked a top floor club room through Laterooms.com and it turned out to be a very well priced deal. Our room was plush and comfortable, with great views of the city out of the floor to ceiling windows. Everything about the room was good, apart from the black surfaces - of which there were many - showing up every speck of dust. I blamed the cleaners, but my wife is more reasonable and blamed us for generating our own by walking on the fluffy carpets! Striking decor, plenty of mirrors, a very comfortable bed and air conditioning that worked properly. The Club Lounge on our floor was OK, especially when drinks were on the Crowne Plaza between 6 and 8pm, but the continental breakfast was a bit of a bunfight with everybody's alarm clocks seemingly going off at the same time! Whilst there was a reasonable selection, there wasn't much room in which to serve it up, as the work surfaces were very limited. A full breakfast is also available in the downstairs restaurant. We ate here in the evening and the food had it's highs and lows, but it wasn't that good. If you like your vegetables a bit softer than hard, then make sure you tell the waitress. The wine list was limited but not overpriced and there was something there for most. The service was very attentive and couldn't be faulted. In fact all the staff were very polite and helpful. Would definitely stay here again, but not when we're out all evening. This is a room for lazy enjoyment - maybe as a treat after a tiring day Christmas shopping.

Room Tip: Book an 'executive double' on the eighth floor

This hotel is well positioned for both business and leisure within Manchester and the surrounding areas. The hotel itself is clean and tidy and the rooms are a decent size.

So why have I given this hotel two stars? - The bed.

The bed in our room was absolutely wrecked, you simply rolled into the middle of it. I complaint to the front desk but they simply said that the bed was fine and nothing could be done!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your stay with us on tripadvisor. These reviews help us so much too continually offer or usual high standard of service. I have become deeply concerned since reading your review. Please accept my apologies that you felt our bed was too soft and that situation was not handled in a swift and appropriate manner. If you could please contact me directly I will be able to get to the bottom of what happened. I look forward to hearing from you.

I booked this hotel as a suprise for my boyfriends birthday. I got a package that included breakfast and the price was very comparable to all of the other hotels within Manchester.

We arrived very early but they were happy to check us in, store our bags and then suggest we come back in an hour and our room would be ready. When we did return the room was lovely and my request to be on a high up floor had been noted as we had a fantastic view with floor to ceiling windows. The room was spotless, facilities modern and there were some lovely toiletries in the bathroom.

We could not fault the staff whilst we were there, on arrival the reception area was busy but more staff were made available so we didn't have to wait too long. The bar staff were also very friendly and the staff at breakfast were very attentive and polite.

I paid for a package which included breakfast, the breakfast itself was delicious and I was glad that I bought the package with it included. There was the usual cereal, fruit yoghurt and fresh pastries but also a hot buffet with bacon, eggs, sausage, french toast, mushrooms, beans etc. These were kept hot and replenished regularly,

I loved the location of the hotel, its is on the edge of the northern quarter and just up from the printworks and arndale centre, we arrived by train and the hotel was a 15 minute walk through the centre from Picadilly station, for those arriving by car it looked like there was plenty of parking nearby. I booked the hotel as I had reservations at Sweet Mandarin which was two minutes from the hotel and was very close to the northern quarter bars - perfect for a romantic getaway.

The hotel itself - from what I could see had a mixture of couples and stag/hen parties. Even though there were a few groups staying at the hotel I found the hotel very peaceful and had no noise disturbance at all.

We both loved this hotel, I chose it more for my boyfriends taste because of its trendy/modern black and white decor but found I too found it very sophisticated. When we return to Manchester we would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: If you want a good view, when you book ask for a room on a high floor.

Stayed at this hotel in april 2011 for the kylie concert and it was great. The rooms are very trendy and modern. All that i would expect for a 4 star - The staff very friendly and always cant do enough to help. I also stayed on business in July 2011 and it met all my expectations.
Breakfast was very good- it is a buffet style breakfast with fresh coffee and tea- a good selection. The mini bar was not to expensive either. I would go back to this hotel

The hotel is in downtown Manchester and very close to the Arnsdale mall. Its a 5 minute walk from all the restaurants etc and the mall. The hotel itself is a modern structure. The rooms are still new and modern. I got free internet. Rate was 75-80 GBP. Good size rooms. Did not eat there as there are tons of eating options and pubs within a 5-10 minute walk, so cant comment on hotel food.

I like the location of the hotel as its central. Cab fare from airport will be about GBP 30. Or you can take the train to Manchester Picadilly and a taxi from there. Recommend the hotel if you want to be in Manchester for a few days.
