“Excellent Location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

Recently organised a stay for my friends’ hen weekend.
Online booking was easy despite our requirements being a little complicated i.e. different size rooms for different nights, however City Stop got it all right.
Check in was efficient, all staff encountered were polite and helpful.
These apartments are in a fantastic location, the location couldn’t have been better for us given the chilly weather.
The Arndale shopping centre, The Birdcage, Tiger Tiger and the Printworks are all literally strides/seconds away. I couldn’t believe how close everywhere we had booked to go actually was. Deansgate is also only a short taxi ride if you don’t fancy the walk. The Printworks has a Wetherspoons Lloyds No1 serving food, including breakfast and is about 10 strides from the door of the apartments. The only downside of this location is it is a little noisy at night time, although this this didn’t bother us it is worth a mention, if you are looking for a very quiet retreat perhaps City Stop is not the place for you.
All members of our party were thrilled with their apartments.
I stayed in an 8 berth apartment with 7 friends and found it to be spacious and well equip, including a pool table.
The other apartments we booked, a 6 berth and 4 a berth were equally as nice.
Although one of the beds on the mezzanine level in the 8 berth apartment was under the eaves and caused a few bangs to the head it was possible to sleep another person (maybe 2) in the lounge area as there were two sofas in addition to the sofa bed. The apartment also had an en suite double room with small balcony, a bathroom and well equip kitchen.
We did have a small issue with the shower screen in the bathroom, however only minutes after reporting it the maintenance man arrived and fixed it promptly, within 15 minutes of reporting it was all fixed. I have never seen a maintenance service this quick! Excellent!
In short I would definitely stay here again as would everyone I travelled with.

Fantastic quality apartments right in the heart of Manchester. We had a 6 person apartment, it was huge with 2 bedrooms (1 with balcony), 2 bathrooms, kitchen and living area with a pool table. We wanted a late check out which they gave us to 1pm at no extra cost. Bars and food outlets are opposite (the printworks). Great apartments, great price and great location.

Let's start with the positives - the location is excellent for city centre and MEN arena which was the reason for staying there, shower good

Negatives - Shabby and overpriced for what you get, noisy into the early hours, door did not lock so we had to put a chair behind it, TV didn't work, Wifi non existent, lightbulbs broken and no replacement available as needed maintenance man to change, receptionist needs training in customer skills soonest, no mirrors in bedrooms, no instructions for kitchen appliances, cooking smells from previous occupants, cracked light switches and sockets, beds very uncomfortable with wafer thin matresses, flush button on cistern broken, balcony in bedroom had been used as a smoking room by previous occupants and was covered in fag ends, corridors not seen a hoover in a long time, discarded food in lift from someone's kebab

Would I stay there again? No!

Room Tip: Get a room at the back. The view isn't great but less noisy!

The City Stop serviced apartments are in a great location in central Manchester with less than a minutes’ walk to the Printworks. Staying here gave us some discounts to some of the local restaurants and pubs – we sadly never got round to taking advantage of this though. I was very happy with the room I was provided with as it was very spacious and the sofa and bed were comfortable. My only complaint staying here would be the sleep quality, despite staying on the top floor I heard all the noise from Lloyd’s bar throughout the night.

Wonderful city centre location. This was our second stay at City Stop.
Very friendly and helpful receptionist. We were going out to the Apollo in the evening and asked for advice on the best way to get there. The receptionist not only advised us to get a taxi, she booked one for us.
The only reason that these apartments didn't get a 5 is that we couldn't get a signal on the television - we didn't try to use it until 2 hours before we were due to check out so didn't contact reception and, also, although the receptionist was helpful in giving us the password for wi-fi, the signal wasn't strong enough for us to access the internet.

We arrived in Manchester and was told 5 minutes before we were due to book in that our accommodation will not be ready for a while. I rang the City Stop Apartments and they had one apartment left which they made available for us. Staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful and they gave us discount vouchers for some of the surrounding pubs and restaurants. Location is perfect distance from shops, bars, restaurants and the MEN arena which we were going to. The accommodation was clean and tidy - I would definitely recommend it!!
