I joined trip advisor today puposely for this review!! What a great little hotel in the Cotswolds. A perfect get away from our hectic schedules at home in london. A last minute decision to get away turned out to be one of the best decisions we have made for a while.
We arrived a little early (we were going to be even earlier had it not been for some serious traffic) the lady behind reception welcomed us and offered to look after our luggage as check in was at 15.00pm, a gentleman then took our mobile phone number and said he would call me if the room was ready any earlier. we were pointed in the direction of their spa and 'sister' hotel across the square to have a look at the facilities and the garden. So we did, and what beautifully kept gardens with a wonderful spa hiding away at the end of them!! We couldnt get any reception on our phones for most of our stay so didnt expect to find out if the room was ready any earlier, then on entering the spa we were warmly greeted and informed that our room was infact ready if we were!! Very slick, and was even more impressed when we got to the room and our luggage was in there.
The room was spotless and comfortable with a great shower. We had dinner in the Pub, the food was excellent, we had Duck and lamb curry and a local ale or two. Our sleep was excellent and breakfast the next morning was just what we needed before heading back. The thing which impressed us most however was the service throughout our stay, from the reception, the spa and everyone we encountered. What a lovely bunch of people, friendly, helpful, attentative, it was them that made our stay. We kept coming across the gentleman who welcomed us on reception (the manager we later found out) he made us coffee, brougt us our food, served us our drinks and had us giggling on the bar. We came home with his phone charger that he kindly got from his car. I called to say i would send it back by post, he cheekily said we can hang on to it untill we returned! And we most definateley will. We even contemplated pulling a sickie to stay an extra day!!
