The interior is large and impressive with excellent stained glass- the Jesse window in the west wall is spectacular with the sun shining through it in the afternoons. This Victorian Gothic building designed by George Gilbert Scott was erected in 5 years between 1853-1858 after the original medieval church was destroyed in a fire.
There is a section of Roman wall visible near to St George's House with an information board explaining what you're looking at.
Parking is limited but there is Tesco (pop in and buy some crisps) or a pay and display 200m away.
There aren't any toilets but there are some in Tesco or across Church Way in Marks and Spencer.
