The last time i visited the hall was in the late seventies and this was the only time until we called in January whilst having a drive round. The car park is a fair size but when there is any events on it would be inadequate, maybe there is an overspill park in a field closeby? and a fee must be paid being on the hourly length of stay (maybe the disabled need not pay,but why should they not ? very sorry if i have upset anyone) The garden and grounds are even in the midst of January immaculate with amazing views down towards the lake, we would have liked to have walked around the lake but the climb back up the hill would have been a bit too much for us. (old sods)There is a nice courtyard outside the cafe for a snack and a rest, the cafe looked quite large and full of people, forgot to say it seemed dog friendly, maybe this does not suit everyone though, it did not bother us we like them. The hall inside was also immaculate with all kinds of exhibits in numerous rooms on two levels, the reception/shop was adequate with helpful and friendly staff,my only gripe was not being able to take photos inside the hall,it said you had to seek permission from staff so i resisted taking any,i think it was for security reasons which is understandable. For the fee of £1 each (over 60s) and £1.30 car park we had 2 very nice hours and we will visit again, thanks for a nice time.
