“Great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

Stayed for one night and was very pleased with the hotel. Was definately the nicest premier inn I have stayed in. Didn't eat there as I was on a night out but did have a drink in the bar and would of had no issue eating in there. Staff were lovely and helpful.

After being let down by the hotel I was originaly booked in to ,would recommend this hotel, very clean and quiet, friendly staff good food and A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP. It was highly recommended by the people at the filling station where I stopped to find out the location on ANY hotel in the area.

We recently stayed for one night at this hotel. Everything about it was excellent from the moment we entered. The staff were bright, cheerful and attended to our needs. When we asked for extra towels they were promptly delivered to our room. The cleanliness was second to none and the bed, room temp and blackout curtains ensured we had a good nights rest. I would definitely recommend a stay at this hotel as a base to explore Doncaster. Station, shops and sights within easy walking distance.

Stayed here this week whilst away on business. Receptionist was fantastic, very helpful, professional, one of the best I have met (and I stay away most weeks of the year). Room fine, heating controls di not work well, but OK. Had a wonderful night's sleep, best in a hotel in ages. However, breakfast - what a disaster. I had pre-booked and was looking forward to a good start to the day. It was awful. Several items of food were missing or almost out. I asked th member of staff in the room could we get somne more. he went into the kitchen and asked (we could hear all of the conversation) and the catering staff shouted at him "no!" He did eventually get some food from them but another 2 guests pointed out to him that 15 (we counted them) plates were filthy, covered in bean juice, encrusted food and disgusting. He shrugged, said "oh" and took the one plate they were holding and left the others for other guests to endure. The cleanliness of the breakfast plates was so poor that I didn't even dare have a cup of tea! I complained to the recpetionist who said she would refund the cost of my breakfast to my credit card (I await this happening) - again, good customer service from her (same lady who was on duty when I checked in. Hotel OK, recptionist good but please get some decent staff who understand customer service at breakfast!

Modern contemporary clean budget hotel
Limited facilities town centre location
No car park and you cannot pay for an overnight stay in the council owned car park opposite as the ticket needs renewing at 7.30 am which means you have to re ticket it at that time
Being city centre loads of restaurants pubs nearby
Also near the award winning fantastic doncaster market worth a stay for that alone
5 minutes walk to bus and train station
2 minutes walk from french gate shopping centre across the road from the main church in the town St Georges

Since our last visit, things have improved dramatically. Excellent service in both the hotel and the bar / restaurant. Food was of a very good standard. Extra special thanks to Maggie on hotel reception and to Lynn and Lauren in the bar / restaurant for making our stay extra special. A warm welcome indeed from all 3. All the staff were attentive and helpful. Praise where praise is indeed deserved. Look forward to returning again soon.
