“good hotel but was not alone!!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

The hotel was nice but it needs updating as i was in room 102 and it was on the main road and you could hear all the traffic outside and the curtains were pale, around 12pm the tv turned its self on well from there i never went to sleep and around 3 i had a very strange sensation, my whole body was shaking and i felt like i was knocked out but was ok afterwards ooooooo strange. The price for the room are quite good but if you like haunted places this is the place for you..

Just to add the lift is a very old one and can only fit 4 people in there and its very very tiny but in good working order

On Saturday 2nd Feb 2013 we spent an evening at the station hotel in dudley, although we didn't stay overnight we were a party of 12 people, all at the hotel for food. We had a fantastic night the food was faultless, plenty of variety, all served hot. the staff were very polite, friendly and helpful and would recommend this place for functions based on the food quality and quanity to all. Well done all at the station hotel.

Room Tip: will be returning again to experience the rooms

We had a voucher from Wowcher and stayed here as we had a 'Feed the Peguins' experience at Dudley Zoo. We arrived at around 8.45pm after battling through the snow and were welcomed by the receptionist. The check in procedure was very quick and friendly. We were allocated room 109, which was a good sized room. The bed was very comfy, lots of space to hang your clothes/drawers and good TV. The bathroom was ok - shower was adequate but did not use the jacuzzi as look a little stained. Overall the decor of the room and hotel as a whole needs updating/moderninsing but cannot fault the size of the car park or the staff - very helpful and friendly. The hotel is in an excellent location for the zoo - literally 2 minutes across the road - and very close to Nandos, McDonalds, KFC, Brewers Fayre, Frankie & Bennys, Toby Carvery, etc. Also Dudly town centre and Tesco Extra are very close by. Breakfast was good - you help yourself to cereal - museli, Frosties, Cornflakes or Rice Krispies, also pastries - eg pain au chocolate, crossiants, ect, youghurts and a good fruit basket, tea, coffee, orange juice, apple juice and cranberry juice. The waitress thakes your order for hot food - good choice of bacon, sausage, hash browns, mushrooms, fried bread, black pudding, baked beans, tomatoes, eggs - fried, poached or scrambled. You can have this on toast or as sandwiches. Also offered toast and jams. We had a meal in the restaurant - great value and well cooked. The bar staff were great, even though they were very busy as there was a wedding in the hotel. We would return - but would love to see the hotel modernised a little.

Room Tip: Room 109 - although on the main road we slept fine.

We were on a bit of a tight budget and The Station Hotel suited us nicely . It lies in easy reach of a bus station . Our room on arrival I felt was a bit dark . Both bedside cabinets had not been cleaned and both were very sticky with dry beer or lager which I sorted out . The shower had a warning sticker on the wall " caution hot water " which I felt was probably exaggerated until I got showered and needed more cold in the mixer :-)
Beds were good . Reception good and helpful and friendly . Worth checking restaurant times , as one night we came home hungry and needed to find food elsewhere .
If you must have better accommodation try one of the nearby hotels .

We needed a place to stay in Dudley so we stayed here. Very clean and the most wonderful front desk staff around Dudley! The elevator is completely old-school and only one person with their luggage will fit inside. The rooms are spacious and very clean, they also have free WIFI. The staircase in the lobby is breathtaking and makes for a great picture when your goofy sister is on the 4th floor looking down at you. All in all and very clean and affordable place to stay!

Stayed at this hotel, after a deal on wowcher. Didn't turn out to be that great a deal!! The room was spacious (only plus point), very dated, and stunk like old mens feet! The bathroom, huge in size, had a jacuzzi bath, which was old and battered. We were booked for two nights, we stayed one. I wouldn't have stayed that but had had a couple of drinks, and couldn't drive! It's a shame, the bar and restaurant here are presentable, the staff were friendly and polite. It was a let down to say the least!
