We bobbed in here while we were passing through Lancaster. It's actually free to residents and only a few quid for adults and free to accompanying children. We spent longer than we were expecting to and the children particularly liked the "sets" for them to explore, a barge and a stagecoach. There were opportunities for the chidren to dress up and keep themselves amused whilst adults read the information boards. The cafe was pleasant, but we were slightly confused to be told that the menu was streamlined for the summer season, as most of the things we asked for were no longer sold. Maybe a change on the board would stop confusion. The staff were all lovely and the building itself is impressive. It's a fair price to get in, though a public car park would have to be used as the facility does not have it's own parking.
