“A good 75p's worth”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2014

After reading some very negative reviews , I and my friends, had a thoroughly enjoyable few hours here. Maybe not quite as good as Bygone Times but still great fun to browse and see some of the very unusual items for sale here. Prices were mostly reasonable and whilst not a lot of genuine antiques collectors of all sorts would probably find something to add to9 their collections. Couple a visit here with alunch in the Brewery and a visit to the farm shop and you have a very good any weather half day trip.

“Worth a Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2014

A vast single story building crammed with inexpensive furniture and collectables. Not exactly antiques but fairly old items that brings back many memories. Can always find something to buy without spending too much money. A friend who visited thought it was more like a junk shop but if you like 'mooching' its brilliant, it probably is likened to massive second hand shop but we still love it. Unfortunately there are no toilets within this building but on there is on the complex. There is no longer a cafe on the complex but there is also a brewery on site which also has a cafe so that is where we now enjoy a cuppa. There is also a large outlet selling various items, clothing, shoes, household etc. Also a Farm Shop selling all sorts of foods.

“Interesting venue”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2014

Have visited this place a few times with my wife. The site complex includes a shop, small gift shop, brewery, and excellent food outlet selling quality meat, vegetables, wine/beer, and associated provisions. The shop sells a variety of household goods, toys, and clothes, all at very reasonable prices. The brewery is worth a visit in itself, offering twice daily tours of the beer making process, and a pleasant seating area where one can consume alcohol and coffee/snacks. Toilets provided. The antiques centre itself, which commands a small charge, is interesting without being exciting, and most of the "stalls" are unattended, and don't appear to have been "refreshed", in terms of stock changes, for years. There's some real tat, and you would have to dig deep to try an unearth a gem. No refreshment area here, or toilets - one has to go outside to a basic toilet block about 50 yds from the main door, and as the route is uncovered, one can end up pretty wet in reaching the facility. My rating of the place has been influenced by the brewery and three shops - all of which I like. I would have downgraded if this review was concerned with the antiques centre only

“OK if it's raining”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013

If you are actually looking for "antiques" then go to Brampton in Cumbria....you won't find many here. This place is like a car boot/charity shop/jumble sale combination, much of the stuff is mediocre, reproduction or just unwanted tat. Years ago this had proper stalls offering genuine vintage and antique items but these stallholders have gradually gone. It's similar to Bygone Times nr Chorley but smaller and without the cafe. If you want to kill a couple of hours looking round, then fair enough but if you are a true collector, you'll get bored and frustrated after the first few stalls.

If you want a loo, go before you venture in cos the only ones on site are elsewhere in the outside complex near the farm shop.

“Great place for an afternoon wander”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013 via mobile

I am quite surprised by the negativity of some of the reviews of the centre. While I agree that you won't find an undiscovered Leonardo or a piece of Gillow furniture, it is worth a look. Regularly changing stalls, which do vary, there is always something browsing for. There are other attractions on the site, including a farm shop and the Lancaster Brewery, both worth a visit as well.
