Usual restaurant was fully booked, it was raining so didn't want to walk far, decided to try here as its been years since my only visit before.
We were directed through to the back and offered drinks and menus. Yes, the restaurant is definitely a bit tired, reminded me a little of a canteen with plastic type tables, but the lighting was good, it appeared clean and the kitchen was on full display from the seating area.
We liked it, we liked the atmosphere, the service was attentive friendly and very good. We walked in just before six and the place just seemed to fill up within 20mins. The staff took it all in their stride, food and drinks all came promptly.
The only negatives were that the tomato garlic bread did taste a little too much like tomato purée and the bruschetta a little bland! Otherwise, my rigatoni arrabiatia was delicious as was the other two main courses we had.
We will definitely visit again, when in need of a garlic fix!
