This restaurant is in a beautiful setting being in the middle of Jephson Park. The three course set Sunday lunch menu of about £19.50 (August 2011) is very reasonable given what you get. My partner started with the Smoked Fish selection with potato salad and I had the Mushroom soup. The service is very professional. Our main courses were the steamed Salmon which was nice and my partner had the Pork chops which were imaginatively presented. The vegetables were; a bowl of red cabbage, a wonderfully buttery roasted potato, new potatoes and peas parisenne.
The desert was a lemon posset accompanied by a lovely champagne jelly and finished off with shortcake biscuits.
The venue is plain and mature but modern. Note – no children’s meals are served but a half portion of an adult’s meal to those under ten is available.
