“Lovely food and good service too”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

Our first visit here and it certainly wont be our last. We arrived at six to find ourselves the first evening customers - the service was good throughout and we were made to feel very welcome indeed. The food came quickly but not too quickly tha we felt rushed. We had the Salad Caprese and King Prawns in Dolcelatta & Coffee sauce as starters both of which were very good, my wife then had the Spaghetti Vongola and I had the Veal which was one of the best I have had. We have dined many times at San Carlo in Leicester and would put La Coppola nearly on a par with there which is quite a compliment from us as San Carlo is our favourite Italian restaurant.

Not cheap perhaps but worth every penny.

“Delightful restaurant with an authentic Italian feel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

We had been told that we might have difficulty booking this restaurant as it is very popular - however as we were happy to eat early in the evening and there was only the two of us they managed to squeeze us in. The food was delicious and the service was excellent if perhaps a wee bit too efficient as we would have liked to have lingered a bit longer - but I guess they needed the table for the next sitting.

“good food, very good service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

Been there a few times over dinner on Sundays and was always pretty full hence I was surprised it was pretty empty when I went for lunch on a weekday (like today).

Decor was just old age and I think I prefer it having no fake wineyard settings than the current decor.

Went for a business lunch hence didn't look into the wine menu. Drinks were expensive (£3 per small bottle of coke!).

Food was geogeous - All 7 of us cleared our plates - and the portions are pretty big as well!)

Service was good and the boss / manager didn't look down on us for not having any alcoholic drinks - which is a bonus!

I would suggest the restaurant to make a weekly lunch special as it's actually pretty expensive for a starter and a main for £20 for a lunch.... I would definitely go more often if they do do a lunch special.

“Italy in Middle England”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

This is the 3rd time I have eaten here and it has never disappointed. Fantastic, authentic Italian food. Waiters also typically Italian and the atmosphere and decor back this up. One small niggle was they overlooked our order for saute potatoes which came a little late but did not detract from our enjoyment of the meal. FYI the house red is fantastic value.
