“Excellent cuppa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2013

Having been for a long walk round Penwortham, we headed to Avenham park for a refreshing cuppa. I had a very nice pot of tea with my other half having a cappuccino. Both very much needed and excellent.

“Beautiful and Well Kept Gardens”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

Avenham Park is amongst the best kept Parks I have visited anywhere in Britain or beyond. It is very diverse, with the Japanese Garden and River walk meaning it's popular with a wide range of people.

“Granny B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

The parks have recently been refurbished and the Japanese gardens within Avenham Park are back to their original splendour. The paths are either tarmac or fine gravel. The Belvedere has been tastefully fenced off to prevent graffiti and there is the Tram Bridge which links the parks to South Ribble. The Old Tram Road is a regular dog walking and cycle track and there is the Pavillion cafe on Avenham Park which gives a welcome break to visitors.

“AVENHAM & MILLER PARK”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2013

fantastic for a peacefull stroll along the River Ribble, over looked by some of the older residences of a bygone era.great for all ages and only minutes from the city centre, bit of a hike uptowards the town centre but well worth the effort.on the way into the centre you`ll also pass Winkley Square which also has a small Parkland area, all in all a great way to spend v little money and see the heart of PRESTON.there are a smattering of local cafes and pubs in the area .you will also see the bridge which brings the trains into /out of Preston Station, one of the main lines in the country.Basically the whole area is steeped in history and once a major player in the making of whar is now the City of Preston .always v busy at Easter time for rolling Eggs

“A couple of stunning parks.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2013

If you are in Preston with an hour to spare these parks are well worth a visit. They are joined together on the banks of the River Ribble. Most parks are flat spaces, but these have steep banks above the rivers flood plain. The layout has been well executed to please the eye and provides an ideal picnic venue.
