“The hotel is a shambles!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2014 via mobile

Hotel website misrepresents the reality of this poorly managed hotel.

Upon arrival greeted by a host of persons seemingly responsible for running the hotel whom were loitering on the stairway. Felt a little bit like crashing a party where you weren't invited.

Shown to a dirty room (hair in bed, bathroom and floor), broken blinds which fell down if you tried to open them, no kettle or flat screen tv (as advertised). On the plus side, towels and soap were provided (as advertised), however the towel also came with a free blood stain.

Persons seemingly running the hotel had some sort of party and were running up and down stairs all night, shouting, knocking on doors, trying to open doors (like they were about to come into the room) and playing really loud music into the night (which reached right up to the top floor where we stayed).

Furthermore, breakfast was not provided due to a marked absence of life in the dining area (possibly due to hungover hotel representatives judging by a bottle blocking the stairways upon making a swift exit).

The only good thing about this hotel is that the location is close to the train station, which makes it suitably easy to get away from the hotel.

Arrived with my daughter yesterday afternoon was shown to one room, but young lad (who looks after bookings for his uncle) said it smelt musty so gave us a different room. Blood on the once white duvet (grey now), cigarette burns on the runner. Toilet not flushed let alone cleaned. Shower disgusting and room very dusty. DIDN'T STOP!!!!

Would not give this guest house any rating!!!!!

On the plus side, the location couldn't be better, situated as it is right next to Preston railway station and also rooms are pretty cheap. However, that's where the positive features end. The room was small and dirty and unbelievably there weren't even any bed clothes - just a tatty stained bare mattress with a thin crumpled duvet thrown randomly onto it! By the time I'd discovered this, there were no staff around to complain to, so I was forced to just sleep in my clothes and leave as soon as it became light... I wasn't going to chance the breakfast!

Room Tip: Find somewhere else!

The first room I was shown was very dirty, with black grot under the shower cubicle rubber mat. Also noisy from the main road outside. The room I attempted to sleep in looked better and had no traffic noise as it was at the back. But I was repeatedly woken by loud groaning noises from the plumbing. eventually I gave up and at one in the morning went to stay at the Premier Inn. Rooms have no carpets, but only Lino on the floor, doors from other rooms were banging and the smell of smoking (presumably in the back yard) drifted up even though my window was closed. The night manager refused to contact the owner when I wanted a refund but, to be fair, the owner did refund me in full the next day, though I had to go back twice to receive the full sum. A real doss house. Never go there!

Room Tip: Don't go there! There are other similar priced b and b's in the same road which are a world...

We stayed One Night in fishergate guesthouse and were very dissatisfied. Our room was Dirty, there were for Exampel red stains on the white Wall and the furniture. The bed was very uncomfortable. The bathroom wasn't much better: the mirrow, the towels and the floor were dirty.

I travelled from North Wales, Aug 2012 to Preston

I stayed at this bed and breakfast the one night and was given a double room with ensuite bathroom with its own shower.

The location of the bed and breakfast is excellent as the railway station is a minutes walk and the bus station is only fifteen minutes.

The venue itself is comfortable with nice beds, a TV and well decorated rooms appointed in neutral tones.

The breakfast I had was a full English breakfast but other cereal and toast is available. The staff are friendly and whilst I was there I smelt damp in the room I was offered but they allowed me to change it. However this did not detract from the quality from my stay which overall was excellent and I was well looked after.
