On Friday 18th January we went to the Farm, spent an hour in the bar then asked for a table for four people in the restaurant. We were shown to a small 'barrel top' table in the bar area which was very noisy. My husband asked the restaurant manager for one of the several available tables in the restaurant only to be told we could not eat in the restaurant because our group of two couples in our forties and fifties were ''too drunk'' to eat in the restaurant!!!!!! We have never been so insulted as customers in our lives!!! I found the comments so unbelievable I decided to speak to the manager myself and he specified his two reasons for coming to this conclusion. One, my husband 'invaded his personal space'' by talking too closely to him (in a noisy pub) and momentarily touching him on the shoulder, and two, ''he slurred his speach''. You can imagine how mortified and insulted we were and left. Oh dear The Farm, your restaurant manager got it sadly wrong that night, and lost four regular customers. All four of us have eaten in the restaurant many times before, had good food, good service and I believe it represents good value for money. How sad to throw it all away with that performance.
