Jessops looked good on the website so my wife and i decided to have a couple of nights in mid March 2006 as a short weekend break. We arrived and where shown to our room which was no.6. Not impressed at all it was clean but very dated and the on-suite consisted of a seperate wc, but the shower and basin opened directly on to the room, the shower did not turn off properly we had to lay the shower head in the bath to stop the dripping noise so we could to get some sleep! The room was cold when we arrived, as it was around freezing outside i would have expected the heating to be on, we were told the heating could be put on if we required it, and this happened again when we came in on the Saturday afternoon about 4pm and again we had to request the heating be put on in our room. I tried to have a shower at 5pm on the Saturday but no hot water! so had to boil at kettle for a shave, tried agian at 6.15pm and yes hot water!!
On the up side the breakfast was very good.
The bar in operation in the hotel is a help yourself affair and fill in the what you have on a sheet and pay when you leave, if you need ice or lemon etc again you have to ring for service.
Overall this hotel needs to improve, cannot vouch for the other rooms but we where disappointed apart from the breakfast.

The perfect small Hotel, ideally located in the historic market town of Tewkesbury, central to famous attractions that includes the Malverns, Cotswolds and the rivers Avon and Severn.

The Jessop House Hotel becomes a home from home and this is entirely down to your hosts, Les and Jenny Thurlow, who provide a warming welcome whilst running their business like a well oiled, reliable and efficient engine. Their breakfeasts must be legendary and set you up for the rest of the day whether its holiday or business.

We recommend the JHH most highly and look forward to revisiting when next in the area. Les and Jenny deserve all the good wishes they get.

Looking for a picturesque weekend getaway within an hour of Birmingham, Jessop House in Tewkesbury certainly fit the bill. Situated just across the way from the magnificent abbey, the spacious, well-equipped rooms and the generous, friendly owners made our short stay here a very memorable one. The amazing variety offered for breakfast should cater for all tastes and the fresh fruit was delicious. Highly recommended!

We were a party of 4, two couples, who had a wonderful 3 day break in the Cotswolds. We stayed in the Jessop House Hotel opposite Tewkesbury Abbey for two nights. The hotel is quite small but the rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated.
The owners are very welcoming and gave excellent advise as to were to eat and site-see. The breakfast is excellent containing a wide choice and nothing is too much trouble.
I would recommend this establishment to anyone who needs a base in order to discover the Cotswolds

Les and Jenny give this place a lovely personality, and graciously look out for all our needs. Comfortable rooms, great breakfast, high speed internet all for a great price.
