“new hotel and they just get better and better :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

booked this last minute but still reasonably priced as always with premier inn. decided to book this as it is a brand new hotel and looked really good in the pictures on the website.

staff really good even when my gf arrived before me and they allowed her to pay for the room and check inn without me present. was assigned 301 which is a corner room and not connected to any other room so very quiet and extremely spacious.

the room was very clean and the bed was amazing as it was new and soo comfy. bath was slightly slippy so when we stay again i may try and get a bath mat from reception as it would be very easy to slip over.

parking local ranges from £8 for 24 hours next door to the hotel or £3 for 24 hours a 5 minute walk away at the ncp next to the train station.

retail park opposite with a range of shops and a frankie and bennys but the brewers fayre at the hotel was good as always :)

town centre is 5 minute walk away for a variety of shops, bars and restaurants and i would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

we are returning this coming weekend and i will post another review after our stay to hopefully show that the standards are still exceptional and it shows that it was that good we are returning for another stay within 10 days.

Room Tip: get a corner room as you have no noise from adjoining rooms

Stayed here as a late booking only booked two days before.. my partner and I wanted to try it as is a new premier inn. Parked on car park next door which was £8 for 24hrs. There is a retail park right infront and the town is within a five minute walk away. Check in was very quick it's the computer machines and the receptionist was very helpful as it was in my partners name but he was running late and so let me check inn and was very strait forward.
Was allocated room 301 and the room was very big lovely corner room so didn't have to worry about neighbours.. had a sofa and the bed was amazing u can tell it was new duvet and pillows were fluffy and thick ...perfect.
We ate in the adjacent restaurants brewers fayre buffet hotdogs and burgers was nice staff on were polite and helpful including the chef serving the plates we ate overlooking the canal and it was so nice with the night lights. Lovely sleep, gorg bed, very clean new hotel will definantly return especially in the summer for drinks by canal :) another good hotel well done!!

The Premier Inn is first class and the Brewers' Fayre excellent value for money.
The location is good, especially for rail travellers.
I experienced a problem with noisy ventilation in the bathroom on the first night of my stay which resulted in a poor night's sleep. This was resolved for the second night.
The staff were helpful well beyond the call of duty and I am very, very grateful for their kindness when I had major problems with the disgraceful car parking situation, which is quite beyond their control.

We stayed one night on the way to Crufts and were delighted with the freshness of the hotel being fairly new. The rooms were quiet and clean, the air con worked well thankfully, as the windows are sealed shut (a gripe of mine with hotels - most people manage not to fall out of windows at home so a small opening to allow some fresh air in would be nice and still safe surely!) and the staff were friendly. Parking is adjacent and paid at a meter, which was fine, but the overnight charge procedure could be made clearer. On the main price board above the meter it says £5 for overnight parking but it doesn't tell you that you must press the yellow button before putting money in so it's very easy to be stung. There have obviously been issues as there was a note attached to our room keys explaining this but I'd imagine most guests, like us, would have paid as they parked rather than going to their rooms and then coming back down. There is a small printed explanation of the system on the meter box but as most people would look at the price sign, decide how much time they needed and pop the coins in, I feel it would really help guests for the hotel to put a large branded sign beside the meter to alert you before you pay. If you are staying beyond 9am for breakfast you must also go back out and pay more. Breakfast itself was nice, only complaint was the time taken for hot food to arrive. We were a table of 4 and there were only 3 other tables seated when we ordered but over the next half hour a lot of tables of 2 came in and many of them received their hot food before us. It arrived eventually but was a bit of a rush to eat as we'd only put another £1 in the meter thinking that an hour would be more than enough for breakfast. Overall, a nice hotel in a convenient spot for the motorway

Room Tip: Call the hotel to request a quiet room if you want one - I phoned to request a canal side room based...

On arrival at the hotel we had to park in a pay and display car park next to the hotel. We arrived at 8pm and paid £5 for parking that took us up to 9am the next morning. (Press the yellow button on the parking ticket machine before putting any money in).
The hotel has no reception and instead has automatic check in terminals. There was a member of staff there at all times to assist with check in if required,
The hotel is only a few months old and we requested a quiet room on the top floor, as there is a fairly busy road next to the hotel.
We were given room 520 which was very spacious and clean and we both had a great nights sleep.
Directly opposite the hotel is a shopping centre. The car park prices in there were the same as in the hotel car park. Apart from the shops, the centre also had a Starbucks and a Frankie and Benny and a Nandos is under construction. The hotel is also on the edge of the town centre and was about 7 minutes drive from the M6, J10.
From 9am the car park was £1.40 for two hours up to 11am.

Room Tip: Request a room on a high floor and have plenty of £1 coins ready for the car park.

Excellent Premier inn. Quiet night's sleep in room on top floor overlooking the canal, watching the barge trips, yet right in the town centre. 5 minutes walk to town - to Tescos, shops, and best of all next door to the New Art Gallery with the Damian Hurst exhibition. Parking next door was £8 for 24 hours - we stayed two nights - so expensive but convenient.
We ate out, as we are vegetarian but there is plenty of choice in the town, particularly of Indian restaurants.
All in all one of the best Premier Inns I have ever stayed in.

Room Tip: A top floor room overlooking the water. Spacious, quiet and fascinating views over the plaza and ba...

First time in Walsall, very good experiance. Vegetarian menu for the meal deal a bit limited, but staff were able to oblige. Excellent value for money, friendly staff especially Laura in the breakfast room. It would be good if you could pay for the car parking through the Hotel as you can at other places. Look forward to going back, best nights sleep in a long time.
