“Clean but very hot and no air con. Excellent location for HP tour.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

We used this hotel for a long weekend seeing the Harry Potter sites. Location wise it was excellent for this. Parked at Watford Junction no problem for train to Euston and the hotel is just a few miles from the excellent Warner Brothers studio tour. That said the hotel was a little disappointing. I thought all Premier Inns were the same.....not so. When we arrived there was no duvet on the double bed which we thought was odd. It was in the wardrobe but we quickly realised it was not on the bed as you don't need it: The room was stiflingly hot even with the window open all the time. I asked reception how to turn on the air con to be told this hotel doesn't have it.......yet! They do provide chilled water on each landing and a fan in each room but it was difficult to sleep. We had to have the window open which meant road noise and an early wake up call from the bin lorry! The room was clean and the staff very friendly. The bathroom was a bit tired looking but plenty of hot water. TGI breakfast was OK. On our first morning we were in breakfast early and it was fine but the next day we were later and it was poor... burnt bacon, uncaring staff and we had to ask for things like jam to be replenished. This hotel will always be popular because of its location to the Harry Potter Studios so it could be a Premier Inn flagship but it NEEDS air conditioning and the restaurant service improving.

To give this hotel an average is slightly unfair. Had I been rating the hotel on it's own the rating would have been higher. The room was modern, clean, well stocked, quiet and large enough for 2 adults and 2 children in comfort. The staff were friendly and the property was safe and secure. However we also booked breakfast at TGI's which is where they supply the breakfast hotel. We were left waiting for 15 minutes at the door before being greeted. We were told a waitress would come and take our order.... this never happened.... however she did take the order of a table who came in after us... eventually we went and asked for our order to be taken after 20 minutes. When the food arrived it was burnt and of awful quality. My family and I left the majority of it. Even the kids who eat anything wouldnt touch it! I should point out that the restaurant was practically empty and so being busy cannot be used as an excuse. There were only four other tables there other than ourselves. My advice would be leave the breakfast..... find a McDonalds and save your money because even their food is better than this rubbish!

No frills hotel like Premier Inns are but certainly clean, comfortable, family friendly and good value for money. It was a an ideal location (10mins drive away) for going to The Harry Potter Tour which was the purpose of our visit. They didn't have a restaurant but a TGI Fridays next door which is also what Premier inn use for serving their breakfasts. Also a short walk away there is cinema and bowling alley with a couple of restaurants. Would definately recommend if you need a comfortable room for the night.

Great location for Harry Potter. Premier Inn was clean and staff friendly and helpful. TGI's was Ok for evening meal though took quite a while to get served at the bar. Had to wait for a table for 30 mintues but expected this as staff explained at the Premier Inn 8pm was a peak time so was not a problem. Breakfast was better than I thought it would be as had read some mixed reviews.

Nice clean rooms as expected from Premier inn. Smoking area was right outside our bedroom window though so could be smelt all through the room. Not pleasant when sleeping esp not as a family room.
Location was great for Warner Bros Studio tour which was the main reason for choosing that hotel. Adjacent restaurant is a TGI Fridays which doesn't allow bookings so we were unable to reserve a table for dinner in advance. A good choice if you want a low cost, clean, reliable short stay over. Just ask for a room on the back of the hotel if you are a non smoker!

I stayed here with my girlfriend whilst down in London for the Community Shield at Wembley. Very easy to find once off the motorway at junction 6 of the M1.

We were checked in by a very enthusiastic (but not false) girl on the front desk. Very happy to provide advice and generally made the check in experience a breeze. The room itself was spacious and very clean. The King Sized bed was comfy and bathroom more than adequate (water very hot in the morning).

We didn’t eat at TGI Fridays as we ate in Central London so can’t comment on that other than to say it looked quite busy without being overcrowded.

On the day of the game, we bought a rail ticket from a station 2 junctions (10 mins) down the motorway.…. £8.10 for the day pass, all zones including central London.

On the whole we were very happy with the stay. It’s a basic hotel that delivers exactly what you could hope for…..and more considering it only cost a shade over £50 for the night.
