“Slightly disappointing for a Premier Inn”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012

Stayed here on a Saturday night with a group of old (very old!) friends.

It feels a little down-market compared with the average Premier Inn (and we have stayed in many).

Nowhere to sit for a chat after 11:30 pm as the bar area is shut and there is not a separate lounge.

Breakfast was good quality, as always, and plenty of it, but the staff were a tad on the amateur side.

Great welcome, clean as a whistle room and a great nights sleep. Then had a super large breakfast that was good quality for the price. Left the hotel feeling it was definatley value for money and i will definatley use Premier Inn again.

Stayed here due to it being close to the Harry Potter Studio Tour and a cheap deal, only £34 for the night.
Clean and tidy hotel, decent size room and full bathroom. Brewers Fayre attached was mediocre. Would stay again if needed to.

Room Tip: Higher floor, away from lift.

We chose this hotel due to its brilliant reviews and because it is close to the Harry Potter studio tour. The welcome we got from the guy on reception was just first class! He went through every aspect of our overnight stay and was full of useful information. To top it off he was very friendly to our 3 children and gave them all pictures and crayons, which really made them happy.
We were impressed with the security and felt comforted that not just anyone from the street can get past reception without a key card.
Our family room was a very pleasant surprise as the children all had a bed each (2 singles and a cot) as well as the double bed for us grown up, there were plenty of pillows and the cot was not only immaculately clean they had also provided clean bedding which most budget hotels don't. There were plenty of towels and tea making facilities for all of us not just the two adults like most cheaper hotels and best of all the room was so clean! No dust, mildew or limescale anywhere... Even under the beds (when you have a toddler like mine you have to check these things).
The only negative point I have is that our double bed was just awful! It creaked with every tiny movement and I don't mean a small creak I mean a LOUD one, I could feel the springs through the mattress, it was lumpy and my side had a big dip in it! We did still get some sleep though and it has not put us off staying here again!

Stayed at the hotel on business due to its location to the business park. The room was very clean and a decent size. I ordered food from the Brewers Fayre next door and then waited for 45 minutes until Reception called to say that my order was ready. The food was very basic and lukewarm and with hindsight I would have eaten elsewhere. Breakfast was okay with a very good choice of teas available but the hot food was not made available until at least 10 minutes after breakfast had started (not good if you need to leave early). The staff were very helpful during the stay.

My first time at the Premier Inn at Watford the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable but it was soulless. The breakfast had 2 sausages left with no bacon or egg at 8.30 so poor value. The £80 cost was average value with free parking. The staff were friendly but had difficulty giving me a receipt. The hotel was full so for most people average must be good enough.

Room Tip: Book in advance and pay less?

Cannot fault the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms. Staff very helpful and welcoming.
Toiletry quality has dropped so would recommend bringing your own shampoo/soap if you like quality products. Breakfast good but a little overpriced at £8.25 so I would recommend pre-booking if you think you'll want breakfast during your stay.
