“Stay at the Holiday Inn or Travel Lodge”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

We stayed for one night before catching the Eurostar, very dated hotel used mainly by lorry drivers. Only had one very thin pillow each when we asked at reception for more we were told they had all gone. Room more basic and smaller than a travel lodge and no lift and in a separate block. Did not eat there so can't comment on the food. Would use the Holiday Inn or the Dartford travel lodge next time.

This was probably the most strange hotel I have stayed at but the location was great for Bluewater. A few friends and I arranged a night out in Bluewater and this hotel was a good budget option for being close by. It is probably popular as a stop over for long distance drivers being that it is so close to the bridge. We stopped for a drink in the 'bar' after returning and were surrounded by men in hi-vis jackets. The bartender wasnt overly helpful and rolled his eyes when we asked for ice and put one or two cubes in each glass - quite odd! Room was basic but fine for the night.

Hotel was not easy to find. Booked in at reception, then had to go outside and in to another building to find our rooms. No lift, public areas looked tired and in need of decoration. Rooms were dark and dreary, not very clean and in need of lots of TLC. Bar was small and restaurant was not very comfortable. Worst leek & potato soup I have ever had and main was not much better. Deserts were on a buffet, which was not very inviting after other people had pawed over it. Ate out on second night, couldn't face the restaurant again. Breakfast was nice though. English was not the 1st language of any member of staff but they were mostly friendly and helpful. I would not recomend this hotel.

Room Tip: No lift so get a room on the ground floor if you have trouble with stairs.

Chosen because it was only 8 miles from Brands Hatch and 3 from Bluewater and Lakeside, we booked 1 night. Finding the hotel was difficult as it is not obvious. The parking was plentiful and the staff attentive although they had a problem with the door access card maker so we were shown to the room and let in . We picked up the card later. The room was quiet even though we were close to the M25, but it was the hottest day of the year so far and there is no aircon in the room! Tea, Coffee were available and so was a hairdryer.

The shower was good (most hotels have a water saving shower where you have to run round the cubicle to get wet!) and the room in general fine for our needs.

Breakfast was included in the deal and that was really good. Plenty to eat on the continental table. You could pay for the full english.

Would I stay again? Yes.

Room Tip: Take junction 1 of the M25 and follow the road to bluewater. After about 2 roundabouts you will come...

The rooms were ok but no air-con or a fan so you could only open the window for cool air then listen to the traffic thundering over the bridge all night long. The open salad/cold meats bar looked nice until you noticed the 20 or so flies loitering on the pillar above having just fed off it. The hot food was abysmal they pasted a piece of bacon off as a gammon steak, the chips were over cooked, the onion rings were furnace blasted to cinders. I will not be staying there again under any circumstances.

We booked two rooms here about a year ago to go to the olympics, we arrived early went to reception. They were very abrupt and told us we couldnt check in yet, we explained we were going to the olympics and then onto a concert in Chelsea and would be very late back, asked if we could pay and collect our keys later, we were told there was no need as the night porter would sort every thing, before we had finished talking to them they ignored us and started talking to each other. we asked again to make sure it would be ok, they again didnt have time for us and just said yes yes it wil be fine.We arrived back at 12:30 in the morning, the night porter wasnt expecting us and due to us not showing up!!! our rooms had been cancelled and no rooms were available. we explained everything to him, he was very helpful and luckily found us a room for the night. The rooms are very basic, the toilet leaked, the walls are so thin next doors alarm woke me up at 5:30, you can hear everything going on in the corridor and the rooms are tiny. As i was awake early, thanks to the amount of noise going on, i laid on the bed watching tv in my boxers when a member of staff come bounding in, obviously not expecting to see me there she went. We went to reception and started to explain to the women at the desk we were not happy and asked for the Manager, one of them abruptly said she was, she was not interested in us at all, we asked why our rooms were cancelled, she said they tried taking the money off our credit card details which were left a year ago when we booked but it declined...she was very rude and implying we had no money. we explained rudely back to her that the are more than enough funds on the card but the one we booked on is now out of date. She was still not interested so we left with not even an aplology. i will never stay there again and we stay in Dartford quite a bit, i recommend the Thurrock hotel, its just the other side of the bridge, its an older hotel but much better value for money and the staff are frienldy and helpful.

We have stayed here before when we went to watch the marathon and its location is great. You are a stones throw from the M25 and only a few miles from Dartford railway station. We stayed this time as a base for going to the O2 and Excell arenas. We like staying there as it very good value, the evening meal is great and the rooms very comfortable with tea and coffee facilities plus toiletries too. We had a drink outside as there is a very pleasant outside area overlooking a lake and a fountain. I would highly recommend using this hotel as a base for going into London. Go from Dartford to Woolwich Arsenal and then you can get on the DLR into the City.
