“Good weekend stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2014

We stayed as a group of thirteen , we are members of a social club and this was a mystery trip.... I think if I had told them they were going to Milton Keynes they would almost all have said "Oh no ! " . The rooms we had were very clean , lovely décor and very comfortable . The hotel has a nice feel to it , rather unusual with a central atrium containing the bar and seating area. Those who had breakfast (they were given a £9.99 voucher) said it was very good (others in the party went around the corner to a pub for a value breakfast... , ) The pool was well received by those who used it . We found the staff pleasant and helpful throughout. We used the hotel as a base for a day visit to Oxford , just over an hour from the Rail station (easy to get to on a local bus) using the C5 express bus service . It was evident at the bus station that day-trip possibilities from MK are almost endless with good services to Northampton , Bedford and Leicester to name but a few , let alone Bletchley Park and a very good shopping centre across the road from The Holiday Inn. We all had a great time and one could see this hotel as a good base for many different types and sizes of groups , hopefully , like our party , coming away with a revised view of this very pleasant modern city.

Room Tip: We stayed on outside facing rooms , some are inside facing overlooking the atrium with a small balco...

My experience with this hotel has been great from before we even arrived on 9th May, I emailed in the morning to see if I could get an upgrade as it was my husbands and my wedding anniversary and got a reply very quickly from Mirka saying we would be able to have a junior suite. Just to say the emails from Mirka were very friendly not just the standard we have upgraded you type.

The hotel is a vey straightforward 15 min walk from the train station and a great location for the huge shopping centre and Xscape where I went for an indoor skydive with Airkix. We could walk everywhere without having to rely on taxis.

We were greeted by friendly girls on reception who even gave us some delicious chef cooked cookies from their counter. Good start we thought!

Our room was huge with a balcony and a bathroom with both a shower (very powerful) and a bath. The hotel and room were extremely clean.

We ate at Middletons restaurant the first night which I would recommend and was only about a 5 min walk from the hotel.

Unfortunately the guests in the next room were arguing way into the small hours but a call to reception and a helpful person on the other end saying he was sorry and would send someone up to sort it out quickly stopped the noise.

Breakfast was delicious both days and on the second night we ate in the hotel restaurant which was again very pleasant though a bit odd that the card reader wasn't able to be used at the table and my husband had to get up to put his pin in near the restaurant entrance!

So all in all I would defiantly recommend this hotel, if we come to Milton Keynes again we would not hesitate to stay here.

We only stayed one night but unfortunately the air conditioning was working and as the room faced inwards we didn't have the luxury of opening a window. The staff were very good offering to find us another room but the hotel was full but they did give us 4 bottles of water and again unfortunately the fridge wasn't working. The staff were very good and the food was good, we were travelling as a group and quite often the food wasn't very good but this wasn't the case here.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing outwards then if it is warm you can open a window

Stayed here for 2 nights with my friends. Very good location, shopping center is just across the hotel and variety of restaurants and bars to hang out.
Exterior look of the hotel is really dull and no life to it however the interior is just absolutely brilliant. Our room is overlooking the atrium bar which is quite nice as we get to see what is happening around the lounge, a bit of entertainment in a way.
Had a drink on the bar and wow! the service is just so efficient. We had LALA serving us all the time with her professionalism and charming smile. We were about to try the restaurant for dinner however looking at the menu it does seem to be over prize.
We had a great breakfast and we did enjoy the pancake machine, it is very rare to have a pancake machine from other hotel chains. Service was really efficient and staffs are really friendly.
Overall, we did have a great time staying in this hotel experiencing the outstanding service that the Bar and Restaurant offered,
Highly recommended.

My partner and I visited this hotel for our 2nd anniversary, I emailed them before we arrived explaining it was.our anniversary and my partners birthday, we received A** treatment and in our room was cards complimentary bottles of alcohol, chocolate, water bottles etc... Our suite was amazing featuring 2 toilets walking wardrobe bathroom with bday too also living room and.bedroom with huge flat screen tvs, the best bit was our own private balcony... My partner ordered room service at 3am he was able to have a meal,. Beautiful glass lifts, 24hrs bar and.absolutely every thing you could want for breakfast!!! All the staff were amazing we felt royal!!! Unfortunately the swimming pool was having a deep clean as was the steam room, but we were able to use gym and sauna. We didn't pay £6 for overnight parking we parked just before barrier and was .able to extend tje parking on my.phone whilst in bed ;-) we were sad we didn't book 2 nights and would definitely recommend to any couple eho wants a night off from kids...its the first time we have been away in 2 years.
Shopping centre amazing, as.is restaurants we went to red hot buffet and.pubs bar's and clubs all walking distance!!!
Keep trying to upload photos but in the meantime Thanks sooo much to Mirka and the team for exceptional outstanding customer service in the holiday Inn Milton Keynes

Stayed here for one night after taking our granddaughter to the nearby attractions. Had booked a triple room which was superb. She had a double sofa bed in her own little room and our bed was so comfy, which is unusual for some hotels, - no hard mattress. Great value for money as we had booked dinner, bed and breakfast and the staff were so nice and helpful, particularly with a little active 3 year old. Nothing was too much trouble and Marta our waitress for dinner was so nice and friendly. We had been to Woburn Safari Park and then to Gullivers the next day and this hotel was in a superb spot for both attractions. Could not fault it at all apart from the expensive Wi-Fi charges. As my daughter was getting married in Las Vegas we had to have the Wi-Fi to watch the ceremony live. Other than that no complaints at all.

Room Tip: We had room 417 on the fourth floor looking out of the hotel, so quiet and excellent location.

Good location handy for the train station . Modern hotel , very clean . My room looked into the center of the hotel , next time i will ask for and outside room . Breakfast was very good . WHY do you have to pay for internet when you are paying the premium mid week businesses rate ??? . £5 to check on email is no longer acceptable . When will the big hotel chains realize that wifi should be included. I don't want to download films or edit video , i just want to check my emails .

Room Tip: Ask for an outside room . Ask for free internet , its worth asking event though they will say to hav...

Dear GeoffLA9

Thank you for taking the time to post a review to the TripAdvisor community.

I am delighted to read that you had such a great stay, with us.

With regards to the internet over the last few years we've invested heavily in providing our guests with super high speed, secure internet.
Technically, what sets us apart is the amount of bandwidth each hotel enjoys. So, unlike a basic broadband connection, we're able to guarantee excellent speed, not just for a few of our guests, but for hundreds.
In addition we offer 24/7 technical support should you require any assistance. To make all this possible we do need to apply a sensible charge for internet use.
We value and appreciate your comments and we are currently looking at how we meet all our guests expectations on the quality and price of internet’.

Thank you once again and we hope to be able to welcome you back to the hotel in the future
