“Be careful booking online”

Spent 2 nights here,lovely location for a city hotel,plenty of trees and greenery around drowning out any noise from the busy road nearby. The staff on reception were very welcoming and friendly and booked us in swiftly. We ate in the onsite restaurant for the first night. The food was excellent,unfortunately the waiter got the chefs special wrong,very disappointing when it arrived but got a free drink because of his error,or offer of main taken off bill. When we booked hotel online we booked bed and breakfast with 1st night evening meal. Reception had to check our booking re evening meal,but looked at our paperwork was all ok. The second night we order food in our room,its very expensive but very very good,portion sizes large and cooked to perfection. The following morning we recieved confirmation of our bill....we were charged £32 for breakfast! We had to prove to reception we had booked bed and breakfast,which we did by showing them their own website! The girl on the desk said this seems to happen a lot,something thats happening all the time with online bookings...the same was said about the evening meal we had booked.
As for our room,we booked here as it advertised 3 smoking rooms,and thats what we booked online,when we got to our room,it was non-smoking,we were told the only smoking rooms were single rooms but we could smoke on the balcony,so we were happy with that,although it was very cold outside.
As for the room,it was ok.a bit dated and the bath took an age to fill,the water pressure for the shower was poor. Overall it was a good stay

I stayed here for 2 nights in September for a conference at the Open University. Ideal location as it was within easy walking distance. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and clean. Ate in the restaurant both nights. Not cheap but food was high quality. Breakfast was also very good. Nice bar area for a drink.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel .. before booking we had read a few not so good reviews and only decided to stay because the location was exactly where we wanted to be. We were not expecting much but were pleasantly surprised. The room was well fitted and clean with adjustable heating. The breakfast was very good ... I cannot think of anything that they did not have... our daughter especially enjoyed the "make your own waffle" machine. We had an evening meal in the restaurant which was excellent, the choice was good, the service was excellent as was the food quality and preparation. The King prawn linguine was second to none.

This Hotel is located about 2 to 3 miles from centre of MK. It is rather run down. There is not a lot you can do about it other than to completely refurbish it. This is the first Hilton I stayed at and was not overly impressed with the look and feel of the place. It is dark inside and perhaps needs more lighting. The hotel has a pool and it is ok.

On a positive note I enjoyed having the evening meal here as it was surprisingly tasty. The staff are also very efficient and polite and made the stay tolerable

In our room our toilet wasn’t working and we were moved promptly to another room which was good. The toilet situation was indicative of the whole hotel building i.e.falling apart and run down.

It is very much the sort of place you stay for the night and go in the morning. You can’t relax in this place.

As part of our ongoing plans to improve our product, we have had a number of rooms refurbished, including new bathroom fitments. We have also invested in new carpets in public areas, and recently had our windows replaced. We do hope that you will visit us again some time in the future to see these improvements.

I've stayed at the Hilton several times on business mainly due to its location and leisure facilities. The rooms themselves are ok however the bathrooms look really cheap and tired. It's quite annoying having to press the TV remote about 10 times to get through various menus before being able to watch anything.

Unfortunately dinner majorly lets this hotel down. I ordered room service one night - a curry and sparkling water including tray charge was over £20 which is pretty obscene considering the meal was small and barely warm. My colleagues ate in the restaurant another night and were waiting one hour between starters and main course and it wasn't even busy.

Breakfast is excellent however and saves the Hilton from getting a worse score. I will probably stay again due to the lack of hotels in the area but for £100 a night and for the Hilton brand I expect better than this....

Old building. However a renovation of the building will not make sense since the facility is completely out of time. Understaffed reception, long waiting time for check-in. Worn down carpets everywhere. Would not walk barefoot in the room... Bad smell in the guest rooms and in bath rooms. Bath room not very clean, many broken tiles, rusty sink, scratches everywhere. No assistance for taxi reservation - had to call myself. Overall not a nice place for even a one night stay. Only good thing: the bed, however this can be expected for the price.

Not recommended.

Thank you for your review. I was most concerned to hear of your disappointment and I have spent considerable time with the Housekeeping Manager, who joins me in sincerely apologising for the shortcomings you reported. This is certainly not to our usual standard and I have ensured these have been rectified immediately.

We do also have an ongoing improvement plan at the hotel and have had new carpets laid on guest corridors, new windows and a number of rooms have undergone bathroom improvements and new furniture.

I hope that you will visit us again sometime and experience the improvements we are making to our product.

Have stayed here several times recently. On business as a solo traveller it is really nice to be made to feel at home by friendly staff and here they do it so well especially Rebecca on reception who genuinely remembers me and my needs. Well done.
