“Peaceful and comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2010

I stayed at Furtho Manor for some time while on business, and found it very pleasant. Situated close to a major road outside Milton Keynes makes travelling easy, and the rooms are spacious and clean. As the rooms are quite large with high ceilings, electric heaters have been provided as well as the radiators so it stays at a nice temperature. Fresh milk, orange juice and a selection of breakfast cereals are available for those who don't fancy a fry-up or toast.

We stayed two night, the farmhouse has a lovely location and was very clean. However. we had a twin bedroom which we asked for yet it wasn't en suite and was freezing cold, the radiator didn't appear to work, and there were not extra blankets in the wardrobe just in case we needed to use them , which we would have, if they had been any. I borrowed a hot water bottle from my daughter, good job she lived near. It may be ideal in summer. At breakfast time we sat round a big dinning table that only sat 6 that was ok the first morning as there was only my husband and myself and another guest, that commented how cold his room was. The breakfast wasn't much to write home about, my husband had full English breakfast which was 1 rasher of bacon 1 sausage an 1 egg, I had poached egg on toast and they were over cooked an dry.....not nice at all. On the second morning , there was more guests, so when we came down, there was no where to sit at the dining table, and we felt embarrassed and awkward that the other guest rushed there breakfast so we could sit down and have ours, We then had to sit own to a messy table while plates were cleared away, there was no sugar in the sugar bowl and when the milk had ran out the owner filled the jug at the table rather than in the kitchen from a container which I assume she used to collect fresh from the dairy, as the guest house is on a working
dairy farm , which I don't have a problem with however that I thought it had to be pasteurised before giving it to the general public . I have stayed in others b&b's for the same price I paid here and they have been to such a higher standard....It was not value for money. We will not be staying again next time we visit Milton Keynes

I have stayed at Furtho Manor Farm during the week on and off for the last four years whilst working in Milton Keynes. The Farmhouse is located in a very idyllic location away from the hustle and bustle of the city but close enough to be in the centre within 10 minutes. The accommodation is superb the costs excellent and the welcome outstanding. You are treated as part of the family from the minute you step into the house and nothing is too much trouble to ensure your stay is perfect. Breakfasts are made to order at a time that suits you and keep you going well into the afternoon if required. The rooms are clean, well presented and spacious for singles, couples or families all include hand basins with one double/family room which is en suite. Staying at a weekend as I have done with my wife occasionally the location is perfect to explore the historic countryside surrounding the farmhouse and the grand union canal which is only a short walk away. Local amenities include the Navigation Public House on the banks of the Canal and the town of Stony Stratford with a good selection of restaurants and public houses is only five minutes by car or taxi.
