“Delicious takeaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

Another takeaway from the mayflower and it didn't disappoint. Try the salt and pepper chicken and moo she pork, delicious. Friendly staff, prompt service, delicious food.

“Lots of great reviews but I don't see why.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

We went to hone Mayflower after seeing all the great reviews on trip advisor. The restaurant itself is well decorated and the staff are very friendly. The food is the problem though; the portions were tiny and I resented paying for a meal that was effectively a few slices of beef and a load of water chest nuts. My girlfriend had prawn dumplings to start and sweet and sour pork for main. Later on that night she was ill, and to top it off they charged us £6 for 2 pints of cordial and tap water. I will not be returning.

“Excellent food and service, but at a price.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

Excellent food and service, worth the Sunday price, otherwise it is too steep to justify. Prawn toast is particularly nice.

“The best restaurant in town...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

My wife and i love this place! We have been many times over the past few years, just the two of us for a birthday or celebration and in a larger group. Each time we've visited the food has been impeccable with service to match. You are always greeted warmly and the food has always been served relatively quick even though the restaurant has always been full to capacity. The place is very unassuming from the outside but this really is this best restaurant to dine in Basingstoke.

“A Hidden Gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

Six of us visited on a Friday night to celebrate a birthday.
The place was packed with a few groups and a smattering of couples so booking in advance is strongly advised.
We have visited before on the spur of the moment and been turned away as there were no tables available.
Service was warm and welcoming and the general hubbub made for a very convivial atmosphere.
The only downside was the flow of delivery drivers through the restaurant tables returning to pick up new orders.
The food was excellent and plentiful and when the bill arrived good value.
Visitors not familiar with Basingstoke may find it a little hard to locate as it is tucked away from the main thoroughfares..
We were amazed to see that the restaurant is celebrating its 7th anniversary as we remember coming here not long after it opened.
Hard to believe that this was once a St John’s ambulance center before being transformed into one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area.
Highly recommended.
