I would love to comment on the quality of the food, but I regret to say we didnt get that far.
Let me explain!
We arrived at 7.25pm tonight, a Monday.
On arrival we were greeted and told that there would be a slight delay of some 20 minutes before we could be seated.
This we thought ok my name was taken, and we were shown to the waiting area.
There were plenty of available seats and no queue at the bar.
We sat with our drinks, looked around and wondered why the 20 minute wait, as it appeared to be very quiet with several empty tables.
Half an hour went by and another round of drinks bought.
Every so often a name was called out and a table occupied.
After an hour and fifteen minutes we reluctantly agreed we would not be eating this night!
I managed to get hold of the waiter and told him that we couldnt wait any longer.
He did say we were next to be seated, but after one and a quarter hours, plus we had yet to order and be served our meals, we could just not spare any more time.
We were told the problem was due to "extreme staff shortages".
There was no apology.
I feel particularly bad as it was at my suggestion that we meet and eat here.
Management - You really need to get to grips.
Mitchells & Butler - You have a problem!
