“Great food and atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

Fantastic menu and authentic food which was not overpriced and we could choose how spicy we wanted it .

We opted for a Red Thai curry and a green one .
We didn't have long to wait for a beautifully presented aromatic tasty meal.
Will definately be visiting in future.

“Fantastic Thai food in an unlikely location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

Came here based on the Trip Advisor reviews. The overall experience was excellent. The service was top notch - very friendly and warm. It was in a non-fancy pub, so you get a typical pub ambience.

We had the sharing plate for starter. The individual items were cooked really well and the three dipping sauces were good too. The main courses are as pictured - Pad Thai and Panang Chicken curry. The Pad Thai was fried beautifully with just the correct blend of flavour. The Panang Curry was rich and fragrant and just spicy enough. Beware that their spiciness scale is for Thai people, so untrained non-Thai palates need to stick to dishes that are labelled "mild", or "medium" at most.... "hot" will probably burn your mouth off. This is a good sign, however, it shows that the cooking is authentically Thai.

The only issue was with the cost of the starter platter. I thought £10 was rather expensive for two each of very small-sized items (spring roll, small fish cake, small pork wonton, small square of pork toast) and a pile of prawn crackers (a very low cost item). They tasted very nice though, but I wouldn't order it again at that price. Maybe the soups will be a better option for starters in future. The mains were well priced though and the portions were of a good size.

It was rather interesting that one can get very nice Thai food in the middle of "nowhere" in between Bolton and Bury, and in such an unconventional setting.... but I'm not complaining. My friend and I will be back again!

“Food great. Service polite. Decor comfortable!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012 via mobile

Great food. Clean and comfortable pub surroundings. This is not a posh restaurant but a smart casual pub that incorporates great Thai food. If visiting in the evening may be worth checking to see what entertainment the pub has on first. Brilliant

“Great food, good value, shame about the place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

My wife and I have eaten here twice now and thoroughly enjoyed the food each time. The quality is very good, portion size generous and the people who run the food side of the business (possibly man and wife team?) are very friendly and welcoming.
The only negative to the whole experience is the venue. As others have noted the eating area is in one section of a pub, complete with huge sky TV screens showing football and the usual pub clientèle watching as you eat your meal. If you can deal with that, and we can, then you get great food and service at value for money prices. Clearly if this eatery were transported to its own premises then prices would be much higher. It all boils down to what sort of compromise you are willing to accept.
For us it is ideal as a stop off for a nice early dinner on the way to the theatre. If you were looking for a restaurant/fine dinning type experience you need to look elsewhere. However, after having flagged up the only negative I would highly recommend the restaurant to anybody who likes Thai food and is on a budget.
