“A unique experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

We travelled to see Fred Dibnah's home and workshops with expectations of understanding a bit more of his life. What we saw and experienced far outweighed our expectations, the visit is unique, an all too rare opportunity to experience a piece of industrial heritage and ingenuity, completely raw and unspoilt by passing years. Leon and his team, including Fred's great friend Alf, have created an unbelievably sympathetic tribute to Fred, entirely in keeping with what he wanted. Leon's ambition to save this special place for future generations should be appreciated far and wide and supported in every way possible. If you are looking to get to know a bit more about Fred Dibnah, nothing will top this completely authentic and unique place. Long may the dream and the good work of everyone involved continue.

“MUST see”

visits are usually by arrangement to this place. not very big, but words are not enough, there is more to see here than in many other Heritage Centres. If you get the chance - go.

“A brilliant glimpse into the life, home and workshops of a true working class hero.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2012

As a birthday treat i wanted to visit the home of Fred Dibnah, a man whom i have watched on tv for years from childhood to adulthood, always up chimneys and on steam engines e.t.c.
It was wonderfull... To see where the great man worked and lived , having been brought back from the brink of destruction by Leon and Jan Powsney.
The tour was brilliant, very informative, taking you through the workshops and former home of the great man.
This tour is a must for everbody who has heard of or who wants to learn more about the true gentleman" Fred Dibnah".
Freds final resting place is only a short distance away and worth taking the walk to pay your respects.

“Absolutely brilliant! Informative and Nostalgic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2012

A wonderful living tribute to the late, great Fred Dibnah, lovingly and carefully being restored by Leon and Co.
To actually touch and feel enabled one to relive all those wonderful poignant and humorous moments so well-captured in the well-known TV Series'
Don't hesitate to contact Leon to arrange a visit...you get a personal tour, crammed with funny anecdotes and numerous facts. Including a 'straight from the horse's mouth' account of Leon's struggle to get the place preserved for our heritage. Do please give the Fred Dibnah Heritage Centre your attention - it is gems like this which make our little island what it is!

“Freds birthday bash”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2012

we travelled over 200 miles for our visit and it was worth every mile!Having been a Fred fan for many years,it was great to see
the house and yard where he spent so much of his time. Leon,Jan and their helpers have done a fantastic job preserving the site and getting the centre up and running. We were made so welcome. A visit is an absolute must for everyone who has an interest in Freds life and achievements.
