“Excellent choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013

I just returned from 3 nights at the Copper Beech House, and I was delighted with everything. Brenda and Albert are wonderful hosts and work so hard to make sure that everything is first rate, always asking if everything is all right and if the guests have any suggestions. I had the first floor room at the front and heard no noise from the road. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the ensuite was spotless and had everything one could need. The rates are very very reasonable for the area and you could not ask for better accommodation. In short, a wonderful choice if you are staying near Gatwick. Thank you Brenda and Albert for your warm welcome.

Room Tip: If you like to sleep in in the morning, get a room not near the breakfast room. Not a big problem...

We were greeted with such a warm welcome by the owners Brenda and Albert which was really such a pleasant surprise as many years of travelling and bad experiences in hotels and B&B's over the years have left us quite jaded.
They were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
We stayed in room 3; a lovely big room at the front of the house which was peaceful and quiet and we had 3 great nights of uninterrupted sleep. The room is very tastefully decorated and has a fabulous modern and exceptionally clean en suite. The bed is huge and extremely comfortable with feather pillows and white linen.
Albert's experience lies in 4* and 5* hotels and this is quite evident as the whole experience is homely yet luxurious.
After a long journey it was great to make use of the tea making facilities and biscuits to recharge our batteries!
We really enjoyed the excellent quality continental buffet breakfast which comprised of pastries, cereals, cheese, fresh fruit, breads, yoghurts and proper juices etc....yummy!

Brenda and Albert at Copper Beech have achieved a rare feeling that you are being looked "after" but not looked over, which is perfect.
They can be contacted via intercom when required but leave you to your own devices unless you need them.
They are passionate about making you comfortable and making your stay exceptional.

We would highly recommend the Copper Beech and have already reserved "our" room for our next stay! Fantastic!

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 3 at the front of the B&B and it was lovely and also surprisingly quiet. The e...

I called the Copper Beech only a couple of days prior to our travel, as this was a last minute break and we were only staying for the one night.

I spoke with Brenda who owns the charming guest house and initially received good vibes, she was very amenable and even managed to accommodate our request for a family of three by putting in another bed into the only room they had left which was a double!

On arrival we were greeted by the owners Brenda & Albert, who are the perfect hosts, they seem to want to go that extra step to make your stay as pleasant as possible. This is where some guest houses differentiate themselves over larger unwelcoming hotels, you get a feeling that there is a genuine desire here to be successful by gaining a reputation for excellence.

The room itself was much larger than we expected [even with the extra single bed] and tastefully decorated, the carpets looked new as did the high quality en-suite bathroom, the room was frame with a large window.

There was no noise from traffic [been caught out here on many occasions before] so we were able to get a good nights sleep

The room was well stocked with tea, coffee and hot chocolate as well as complementary biscuits, the bathroom equally had everything you need even extending to cotton buds and other accessories.

Car parking is available on site although it is a bit challenging at first to position your car.

The breakfast room is clean and bright and very welcoming, the buffet style continental breakfast is both well balanced and plentiful and the hosts are busy making sure everything flows smoothly. My only comment on the breakfast room itself is the tables make the room quite cramped, but this is me being picky I suppose [get some smaller round tables Brenda!]

The town centre of Crawley is just a few minutes walk away and offers a wide range of eateries and bars.

In conclusion we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we were made to feel like valued guests, very good value for money, and equipped to a high standard.

But would we recommend Copper Beech and would we stay there again?

Small privately owned B&B guesthouse in walking distance of train station (if your luggage isn't too heavy!) and restaurants/shops etc. in Crawley centre.

Warm welcome by the owner. The rooms are fairly spacious and immaculate in décor and cleanliness. Fittings are of a high standard and befitting of a 4* hotel at least. The little extras such as hairdryer, tea & coffee with biscuits, bathroom toiletries etc. make this an excellent alternative to an overly priced Gatwick airport hotel if you need a night stop.

The breakfast buffet was plentiful with fresh fruit and great coffee, plus choice of breads, jams, cereals etc. etc.

My one very slight criticism was that my room was extremely hot (I stayed when the temp outside was about 28 degs!) and there is no air-con which wouldn't normally matter in Crawley - but due to the exceptional heat and the fact that I didn't feel comfortable opening the large window as I was on the ground floor I didn't actually get much sleep - in spite of the very comfortable bed.

Perhaps some fans could be made available at such times.

Over-all a really great place to stay and I will definitely be back.

Room Tip: If you like fresh air whilst sleeping - ask for an upstairs room.

Would I recommend to my best friend? Most certainly!
Could I find anything to complain about? Absolutely not!
What is my opinion of the hosts? Simply charming!
I will stay there again if I need to be at Gatwick. We booked a family room as my daughter was leaving for Canada the following morning. We arrived late and left early but were provided with a breakfast to go, which was very welcome. The premises were lovely and clean and the beds comfortable. Copper Beeches is a lovely old house which has been refurbished with love, and it shows! I wish you every success Brenda and Albert and hope to meet you again in the future.

Room Tip: I am sure that they are all excellent

If you're going to be flying cattle class from Gatwick and would like a little luxury before doing so then you could do a lot worse than booking a night at Copper Beech Guesthouse.

The room we stayed in was immaculate with an ensuite shower with great water pressure. The bed was a large super king size and very comfortable to sleep in. The linen was clean and soft however, our pillows had a rather musty smell, not sure why but that didn't detract from a good nights sleep. There is also free WIFI all over the house if you need.

Breakfast is continental in style so no full fry-up. Instead, you can pick from a large buffet of pastries, fruits, conrflakes, porridge, toast, jams and spreads etc washed down with some very good coffee.

The B&B itself is situated on a quiet road and we did not hear any noises from airplanes or neighbours etc whilst we were there. There are a few parking spaces out in the front of the house. Local restaurants are a short walk away and the owners can book tables etc for you in advance with a possible discount thrown in depending on where you wish to eat.

We were welcomed very warmly when we arrived and bid a friendly adieu when we left. Overall, a very good place to stay.

We found this place just excellent....totally confirm the other reviews. Crisp clean quiet room, delightful ensuite, wonderful spread for breakfast with every little detail attended to. Well done you two.....you can't go wrong if you continue as you have started!
