“Rubbish - Never again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

We called into the Harvester as we were staying overnight in the area, and never again.
We ordered various starters, one of our party ordered garlic bread, which when it came was frozen solid in the middle, I ordered the chicken wings and they were cold too, went to the salad bar, and what a disgrace, there was tomatoes in the sauces bread buns on the floor, sweetcorn in the lettuce, beetroot in the carro, we did complain and rightly so these were deducted from our bill.
Then i ordered the chicken filltet with a monterey jack sauce, and when this came the sauce was like cold campbells condensed mushroom soup, yuk, at this stage it was getting rather embarssing of complaining all the time, and when the bill finally came, they tried over charging us for a bottle of wine.
I really fail to see what the attraction is about this type of restaurant, when more or less everything is frozen.
Avoid at all costs, and spend your money elsewhere.

“Like Harvester but this one lets the chain down...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

We like the Harvester and have frequently gone to the one on the square about in Crawley but thought we'd try out the new one in the leisure park...big mistake. We sat for half an hour after being shown our table and nobody served us as we watched other members of staff slouching on the chairs to take people's orders, the atmosphere was very chaotic and disorganised and final rude comments from yet another member of staff resorted to us leaving. Have never left a restaurant before for this reason but were not prepared to put up with the horrendous service. Go to the square about instead!

“Just hope they were having a bad day”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

We visited this restaurant on New Year's day and everything was just awful about it. There were very few staff and nearly all the tables were laden with dirty plates and left over food. The manager had to quickly clear a table in order to seat us.
Having sat down we waited nearly 30 minutes and eventually the manager had to come and take our order. We were a party of 4 but 2 meals arrived long before the other two. Two of us had to send our meals back as the potatoes were raw and very hard and the meat (I like my steak rare) was so under done i think it bypassed the grill.
The place felt very dirty and under managed and there were a lot of dishes not available as they had run out of chicken breast. This restaurant is close to the cinema complex and perhaps we should have had alarm bells ringing when all the other places were heaving with people trying to get in. Shame as other members of the family have been here and it was great.

“Very good value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

If you are hungry and just want a reasonable meal then this is the place for you. Unlimited salad bar is a big attraction. Portions are pretty good as is the quality. Service varies especially at peak times. My biggest gripe is the noisy children that have plagued every visit. Otherwise its not at all bad.

“A spontaneous decision”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

My friend and I had just been to the cinema and fancied a bit of food, the other places didn't really appeal, we decided on the Harvester. It was quite busy, we had to wait to get seated even though there were spare tables in the restaurant. The salad bar was okay, the main course was average. It was a nice dinner with my friend, but the food was a let down.
