“In need of refurbishment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

The Wyvern doesn't have the atmosphere of the Theatre Royal in Bath but all seats have a reasonable view of the stage. It badly needs a makeover though. The seats are narrow and uncomfortable. Some are ripped. There isn't much legroom either. But the worst thing about the theatre is how few actual plays they put on. We try and go whenever there is a play but that seldom works out at more than two visits a year. Most of the programme comprises has-been pop groups, tribute bands and so-called "entertainers".

We enjoyed the acrobats of the Chinese State Circus, but as another reviewer has said, the theatre did a very poor job in publicising the event. We felt rather embarrassed for the performers by the number of empty seats.

The ice creams sold in the interval are of good quality but it's really difficult to get down to the front of the stage from where they are sold if you're in the Circle.

If you want to see the actor's faces clearly, the best seats are in the middle of the stalls from around row G to L.

The Rendezvous restaurant next door is open both before and after evening performances.

There are plenty of public car parks nearby.

“great - just odd size”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

It's too big to be a small theatre (Arts Centre) & too small to be a big theatre (New Theatre), so misses out a lot of the national tours. despite this does a good job & the staff (volunteers) are great.

“Night Out With My Mum To Watch Soul Sister”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

I'd never been to the Wyvern before and wasn't disappointed! The sho was amazing and the view from our seats wasn't restricted at all. I am just waiting for something I want to see to come there and I will be going again.

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

We have seen many shows there. The staff are always friendly and helpful and every seat in the house has an excellent view of the stage.
