“Budget hotel - get what you pay for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

From £29 per room per night including breakfast this hotel is definitely a budget hotel! It is located right in the centre of Derby and easy access to everywhere. The room was fairly small and very basic but had everything we needed. The window wouldn't close properly but wasnt too much of an issue for us as the curtains were that thick it didnt let any air in!

The hotel staff were very friendly and after midnight there is a porter who lets you in although we did have to wait around 5 minutes before he came to the door.

The continental breakfast was very basic but again something for everyone.

If you want a cheap centrally located hotel and is basically all you are after is a bed then this is ideal however, if you plan on spending time in your room then I would rather pay a little extra and have a better room!

If your looking for a modern hotel with all the facilities this is not the one for you. The reception and bar area is really lovely and modern ,the bedrooms are a little tired but clean which is the main thing.
Its in a central location so if you are looking for something cheap as a one night stop over then this gives you exactly what you would expect for the price.
The breakfast is continental which again is basic and its not quality produce but if you in a rush it will put you on till lunch.
The staff are very friendly and helpful

Very good location and excellent value for money. I booked a non refundable deal for £46 for 2 nights. The hotel room was basic but clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was very good. Staff were very helpful.

Room Tip: Some noise from city centre if you have a room at the back of the hotel. Single room bathrooms are f...

If you are on a budget looking for a cheap hotel in the city centre then this is fine, however, rooms are very small and out dated, shower is the smallest shower i've ever been in and the lock on my hotel door would not work when i returned from my night out. The night porter could not get it sorted for me and so i ended up in a different room without acces to my belongings. Apparently the battery on the electronic door key had worn out. To be fair this was finely sorted the next morning by the friendlier more competent day reception staff.

i was checked into this hotel for all of 5 mins. it was horrible, nothing like photos. the windows did not open and they was black. poor quality room. there excuse was because it was a smoking room. i would not recommend this to anyone. more fit for a animal.

Room Tip: i would recommend the days inn hotel.

A bit worried about it when we saw the exterior. Clean room and bathroom. curtains didn't quite fit and we could feel the springs of the mattress. Nevertheless, it was an ideal location for The Venue. Two minute walk. Short walk to eateries too. Just over £32 for a room for two people. Cereals, toast etc was perfectly adequate. Certainly can't moan about it for the price. would stay there again.
