“I wish I could go back there and spend another night....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012

We spent 1 nights in Cold Cotes, and it was splendid. It was my first night in the English countryside, and I felt as if I was thrown into an 18th century British novel. Beautiful rooms, breathtaking gardens, 2 cute ponys, great breakfast, great hospitality - A unique experience!

We booked here for 2 nights to attend our daughters wedding at a local village. We stayed in room 4 which was very roomy with a very large bathroom. All linen was fresh and high quality. Breakfast was excellent with an unusually wide choice, all served swiftly, in a friendly but not overly intrusive manner. We would highly recommend this B&B. Thank you.

Room Tip: Room 4 had lovely views over the wild flower gardens.

What a wonderful place. Attention to detail and quality of fittings and service were excellent. The breakfast was fantastic fresh quality ingredients There was a problem with the water the night we were there and the owners did everything humanly possible to make our stay as unaffected as possible. Will definitely be back. Could not fault it in any way. Beds were really comfortable too Thank you.

We stayed at this lovely B&B just outside Harrogate for 2 nights. When we arrived, tea and cakes were served in the very comfortable lounge with a blazing log fire, just perfect to warm us up on a very wet and cold April day. We were shown to our room (no. 5 in the converted barn) which was just perfect, a superking bed (which could be converted to twin beds) with lovely bedding. Why oh why don't more B&Bs invest in decent furniture like this! The wet room, with quality fittings, was beautifully decorated and with premium bathroom products available, you don't really need to take anything of your own. The breakfasts were wonderful, everything was beautifully presented and nothing was too much trouble. The weather was atrocious when we stayed but we had a large umbrella outside our room for our use. Attention to detail was beyond reproach and we would definitely stay here again. Unfortunately, the only pub within walking distance was dreadful and should be avoided at all costs! The Nelson Inn, a few miles further on, would be a good choice.

Just back from staying here for two nights with our family. We had rooms 4,5,and 6 which were in the converted barn. All three rooms were excellent with gorgeous bedding and bathroom products from the white comapny. Especially nice was room 6 accessed from its own steps it is a vaulted room with a wonderful bath and wet room, better than most 5star hotels.
We were welcomed with homemade cake and the breakfasts were wonderful, loads of choice and the presentation very beautiful.
Cold cotes is only 6miles from Harrogate so easily accessable and very close to lots of other Yorkshire attractions, we visited Fountains Abbey and Haworth.
Cant wait for a return visit.

Room Tip: Room 6 is a large vaulted room with large bathroom.

Just back from spending three nights at Cold Cotes and we're already thinking about when we can make a return trip. The hospitality was superb - the breakfasts were wonderful, delicious and beautifully presented. We stayed in two of the premium rooms, each easily up to the standard of a boutique hotel. The attention to detail is extremely impressive and made our stay a memorable and special experience.
