“A warm welcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

A lovely warm welcome at Garden House. Room was spotless and breakfast was exactly what we needed to start the day.

Garden House is opposite a beautiful park, well worth a walk . Would love to come back in the summer months to see Harrogate in bloom.

This is a very clean and friendly b&b. Kath and Nigel were fantastic hosts, made us a pot of tea on arrival with homemade scones and the breakfast was fantastic. The room was large, warm and clean. the shower was excellent and the bathroom was extremely clean. I would definitely visit Harrogate again the nightlife was great try the Blues Bar for some great live music. I would definitely recommend staying here, the decor was not to my taste but you couldn't fault it. Really enjoyed my stay.

This is lovely, clean and friendly bed and breakfast accomodation. It is situated just outside the parking zone for Harrogate which means you can park very close without the problem of paying to park or moving your car all the time. It is a nice walk through Valley gardens to the town - about 10-15 minutes walk.

Although I didnt stay here myself I booked it for my girlfriend & her son, for two nights while I was in harrogate for 2 weeks with work. I was in the hotel & stayed in the room, but left in the late evening & didnt sleep there. My personal experiences are its an excellent little guesthouse with decoration in keeping with the period property, its opposite valley gardens (beautiful), a walk from Harlow Carr Gardens, through the woods (fairly long walk) and just up the hill from the town. The owners Kath & Nigel couldnt be more helpful and will do anything to assist. Although I didnt have breakfast there, my other half told me it was fantastic & she enjoyed uninterrupted sleep. I would suggest its a guesthouse best suited to middle aged/retired visitors rather than young couples, You will not be disapppointed.

We recently stayed at Garden House for a weekend break with my sister and husband. Excellent accommodation in the heart of Harrogate overlooking the park, within easy reach of town. Kath and Nigel were excellent hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast were the highlight of the day with all local produce served, and we were set up for the day. Rooms were roomy and very comfortable with attention paid to little details that you would not get in a large hotel. Situated within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales and plenty of walks around if you like doing that like we did.

We have stayed here lots of times as a couple and have brought friends to stay here too, and recommended it to other friends. Kath and Nigel are always very friendly and helpful. Garden House overlooks the Valley Gardens with a pitch and putt golf course across the road. You are greeted with a pot of tea or coffee with homemade scones in the guest lounge where there are travel books and brochures. The rooms are always impeccably clean with white fluffy towels and tea/coffee tray with biscuits. There are magnifying mirrors, large bath/shower gel, shoe cleaning kit, nail brushes etc. in rooms. The location is excellent - just about 10-15 minute walk into town through the beautiful Valley Gardens and close to lots of lovely restaurants (Kath and Nigel will advise/book for you).. You can walk to the RHS Harlow Carr Gardens from here too. There is a wonderful breakfast to start your day in beautiful Harrogate or touring Yorkshire. You will have an excellent stay!

we have stayed here 3 times, with our children, when they were young, and most recent as a couple. The standards of Kath and Nigel our hosts are impeccable as is, the food, service and cleanliness of their home.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the location is ideal for walking into town centre or exploring the adjacent park gardens and idealy placed for touring the area by car.
