“Excellent location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

Stayed one night (Thursday) ideal location in a nice part of Harrogate, close to shops The Pump Room & Valley Gardens. Check in area tiny but staff friendly no problem for extra pillows & tea & Coffee. Had a 3rd floor room overlooking the street, normal travelodge layout and had no real problem with noise. (It does warn you on their web site ) Wetherspoons next door (The Winter Gardens) for breakfast / dinner. Their is parking next door but quite expensive so used the West Park multi storey £6.20 for 24 hrs a 10 mins walk away. You can pull up outside to drop off luggage but it is in the one way system.

Room Tip: High floor rooms overlooking street are quieter.

Recently stayed for 3 nights at the Travelodge Harrogate - I read the reviews on here about it being noisy so requested a top floor room as we were travelling with a baby. I personally found the staff very nice, and quite friendly - no problems there although the reception area is tiny.

The location is great - right in the heart of Harrogate so you could walk in any direction and find shops, places to eat etc.

Now...the noise. It IS noisy. Sunday night, it wasn't music but the extremely loud revellers in the pub (Weatherspoons) who seemed to really enjoy screeching and screaming at the top of their voices and this went on til 2am. Monday night it was still people talking, some music. Also as there's a bottle bank nearby we got woken up at 6am by the clanging of bottles. This happened 2 mornings out of 4.

Bear in mind you've got Weatherspoons on one side, a rock cafe on the other and a bar RIGHT UNDER too. I don't know how people on the 1st floor of the hotel would've coped.

Rooms were fine, although the temperature was funny - quite hot most of the time but it wasn't feesible to keep the window open as it was so loud.

Parking is tricky - for the sake of ease we parked in the car park directly next to the hotel. In the evening it's just £2 for the whole night til 8am (and you need to go up and put a new ticket on if you are staying). We paid £11 per 24 hours.

Stayed overnight (Weds), top floor - overlooking Oxford St. Room clean, comfortable and everything worked. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Good price. Had booked via internet - no problems on check-in, duration of stay, or at check-out time. Excellent location. Would stay again. Thanks, Travelodge! You made our first visit to beautiful Harrogate wonderful!

Room Tip: Top floor has great views and is probably the quietest.

This travelodge is smart new and clean and in a fantastic central position. Also near a secure multistorey carpark. The Wetherspoons next door is one of their best.

BUT, what others haven't made clear is that Lure Bar is actually part of the same building as the Travelodge. In fact we were staying on the 1st floor and the club was right underneath us. The club is a magnate for Hens and Stags. The music was deafening and went on until 2am. It registered a constant 60-65dB in our bedroom. By this time I was too wound up to go to sleep anyway. Travelodge should make this issue very clear in their description of this hotel. I'm sure the Hens and Stags will still come and stay!

Room Tip: try to get one to North East as high up as possible - ie. well away from the Lure Bar underneath!

We were sold a breakfast but not told it was basically a cardboard box with a roll, an inedible bun, a bottle of orange juice and a small tub of corn flakes. Had we been told in advance that there was no proper breakfast we would not have bought it. Nearby parking is too expensve - £11 for 24 hours. The room was basic but the worst thing was the terrible row from a night club beneath and a jazz club opposite; it was a hot night and loads of people were outside but it was so noisy they might just as well have been in our room! It went on until well gone 2.30am. Will we be going back to a Travel Lodge - NEVER!!

Hotel is a typical Travelodge you get what you pay for but you won't get any sleep here if you don't bring earplugs. Unbelievable noise of girls screeching all night. You have been warned! I couldn't hear a thing after I'd put them in, though.

Wetherspoons next door for breakfast and close to everything in Harrogate.

There is no parking so you will either have to pay or park a 10 min walk out of town. Extra pillows and towels provided on request. Overall fine if you discount the noise.

Whenever I come to Harrogate I stay here. Fab central location. Everything within walking distance. Never had any problems with noise disturbing my sleep however I am usually one of the people rolling in at daft o clock.
Staff always helpful. Parking can be difficult but we always seem to manage.
