“Clean and Quiet what more can you ask for?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2011

Stayed at Arden House in November as the place we normally stayed at was full and gave us the recommendation. We were pleased with the off street parking and were able to park easily every day (3 day stay) though on the last day it was on the front street with a free permit provided by Bev. Room was on the first floor though I would suggest for older or less mobile customers they ask for ground or first floor as there are quite a few steps to the second floor (we had a bit of a nosey!) We had a room on the front which has a nice view of a tree lined street with very little traffic which is important to me as I am a light sleeper. I also liked the fact they have an honesty bar off reception in a cosy lounge with a TV should you like a small tipple in the evening.

A comfortable stay, in a pleasing Victorian house situated in a quiet road close to the Conference Centre and a range of shops and restaurants. Rooms are clean, welcoming and tastefully furnished. Lots of careful touches: linen table napkins, excellent coffee, lots of choice of high quality breakfast dishes, and attentive service. Unlike a big chain, we had the personal attention of the proprietor of this comfortable guest house and would love to stay again in future.

Room Tip: Choose a lower floor room if you have difficulty climbing stairs.

Perfectly located within easy walking distance of the town centre in a pretty tree lined avenue. Lots of choice of bars, restaurants and cafe's close by.The accommodation was full of character, very clean and confortable. The hostess and her staff were all very friendly and accomodating, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was wonderful, lots of choice and cooked to order. I would definitely recommend this B&B to anybody wanting to stay in Harrogate in the near future.

My first impressions at the guest house was WoW! not only did we get a warm welcome by the proprietor Ms Beverley Kemp but also a free glass of wine while we waited in turn to be shown our rooms. The living room has a home from home look which has an amazing roaring coal fire which took the chill off from the December cold. There is also an honesty bar from which you can help your self to drinks being sure to write down what take which you pay later. Across from the living room is a clean and fresh breakfast seating area with a better than average menu which is a great way to start the day and comes with happy and friendly service. My single room with ensuite while small suited all my needs - comfy bed and small flat screen t.v, to entertain me, a kettle with all that you need to make a drink as and when you want. The ensuite offered me choice of taking a bath or a shower with fresh towls daily and mini bottles of moisturisers gives it that little touch. I felt comfortable with the knowledge that my processions were safe when the room was cleaned ready for my return. This was a great experience for me and not once did i feel like a number that I would recommend anyone to book at Arden house. The guest house is just a short walk to all the best places to eat or do some shopping "You will be spoiled".

Our walking group stayed at Arden House for three nights. We were all very pleased with the accommodation and the hospitality of the hostess and her staff. The breakfast room was light and airy, with a number of options. The rooms were clean and comfortable, although as this is two adjoining Victorian houses converted into a B&B there are a lot of stairs. The House is close walking distance to the centre of Harrogate and there are several good restaurants within 300-400 yards. The street is relatively quiet, being mostly residential with several other B&Bs.

This delightful guest house was a joy to stay in. The breakfast was good and adbundant. The best part was the proprietor who made our stay welcoming and catered to every need with grace and efficiency. I would definately stay here again. As an American, I felt especially welomed.

Room Tip: Only saw my room, it was small but comfortable and more than adequate.
