“Lovely food, lovely evening”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

Would highly recommend - was great food, did the fabulous midweek menu (£19.95 head for 3 courses) and it felt a la carte - great choice and attention to detail. Wine was delicious and reasonably priced. Nice touches - we ordered sparkling water for the table which they don't charge for and the bread we had was fluffy, warm with flecks of beetroot running through. Great service from Tom too.

“Good, but?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

I chose this restaurant for a special occasion. Reviews were good and the restaurant has a good reputation. On booking you are offered a sitting at 7 or 9. We chose 9, but on arrival the early sitting was still in full swing. This makes one feel as if you have arrived too early at a friends for dinner and are not really welcome. There is also no where to sit. The noise level was above comfort level, and unfortuantely this prevailed throughout the evening. The ceiling is low and there are too many tables. We were unfortunate to be seated next to a very noisy table of 6. One of the women had a laugh like a hyena and this really detrated from our enjoyment .
The food is good, not exceptional. It came to the table quickly. The service is below par. At these prices I do not expect to serve my own wine. More staff is needed to ensure that the customers are being well looked after. The maitre d was good but we could see he was rushed off his feet.
This restaurant has a good reputation but needs to address the needs of the customer. Dont eat here if you want a peaceful meal. Sorry but we will not be returning.

“Excellent value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

We visited between Xmas and New Year. We received a warm and friendly welcome. There was plenty to choose from on the menu, all at good prices. The food was excellent.

“Best french restaurant in Harrogate by far”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012 via mobile

Being french myself, I know my french food and I can tell you that this restaurant is the best 1 in town by far. Very attentive staff and very friendly french chef. I have even bought his book for my french family for Christmas. I have already been twice in the 2 past month and I would definitely recommend it if you want to test high class French English fusion food.
