Stayed here just for one night (Birthday treat) Not too bad, alot better than we had experienced at other Paramount hotels. Our room was quite spacious, it had been given a "face lift" but we felt it was not worthy of superior room class, it looked NOTHING like the picture in the brochure! Our double bed was actually two singles pushed together and the decor was very ordinary. My Husband did speak with reception but she assured him it was their definition of a superior room, she did offer another room but that was worse than the one we had already been given. On refusal of second room the receptionist apologised and gave us a free bottle of wine with dinner.

Dinner was very good-apart from the New Potatoes being straight from a tin-yuk.

Overall our stay was quite pleasurable but we will not be returning to The Majestic Hotel unless we are promised the room on their website.

I stayed at this hotel with four friends in March, having previously only attended functions there. On arrival at lunchtine, all rooms with the exception of mine were ready. When I finally checked in I was disappointed to have been given a smoking room when I specifically asked for non. I rang reception who gave me three options. Option 1 was to open the window and spray some air freshner (not very effective as you can imagine), option 2 was a tiny, cramped single room across the corridor and option 3 was a standard room 2 floors up. I opted for the third and moved away from the rest of my party. The room had seen better days; paint falling off the radiator, shabby furniture, tired looking bathroom etc. My friends all agreed about the rooms, they have seen better days.
The public areas are very grand but I felt the hotel needs to invest in keeping the rest of the hotel in such impressive condition.
Breakfast was lovely!

Myself, husband and two daughters have just come back from a Whitsun weekend break at the Majestic and found the whole experience fantastic. We are very frequent weekend break takers and can honestly say this hotel is top notch. We had a premium family room which we did have to pay more for but was plenty big enough for four people. We found the food to be excellent in quality and choice and the service second to none. If you stay DBB you can have the Table D'hote menu inclusive or an allowance towards the A la Carte, children have have small portions of the adult menu but there is also a great childrens menu. Even breakfast was a lovely experience. We were seated quickly and served almost immediately with tea, coffee and toast and the buffets were kept well stocked. We were even asked if we would like more tea and toast which is something that has never happened to us before as staff usually seem so harassed at breakfast but not at the cool, calm, Majestic!
There was a wedding on the Sunday (which in our experience is the dread of all weekend break takers all summer as the standard of service for other guests plummits!) but you would not have really known it as the staffing levels and service were not affected for other guests which was as it should be but is not usually in most hotels. Harrogate is beautiful and the hotel is within a short walking distance. The only problem was the bill was totally wrong but that was a communication problem between central reservations and the hotel ,we had booked DBB but had been put down for BB so all the food had been charged as extra. The receptionist dealt with this and all was well in the end. All in all this is a lovely hotel with a grand old building in lovely grounds and position. Most importantly the staff are well trained, professional and nothing seems to be any trouble.

We spent two nights at this Hotel. On arrival received a quick and friendly check in service. The room was smaller than expected but the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was outdated and in need of refurbishment, tile grout being black and the shower curtain rail rusty. There was a bad smell in the bathroom which we reported, this improved, although the toilet needs to be cleaned with a brush!.

The outside of the hotel needs some repars, in particular the bedroom wooden window sills are in desperate need of repair and re-painting.

The public rooms are charming. The food was of a very good standard as was the service by the restaurant and bar staff. The gardens are well maintained and can be viewed from the hotel terrace area.

The hotel is in an excellent location for the town centre, about a two minute walk.

We stayed for a 3 night break over Easter and found the Majestic Hotel a great choice for a relaxing break. it's central location made it ideal for quick wanders around beautiful Harrogate. The food was very good with a varied choice for each evening, we even received a lovely hand made Easter Egg in our room which was delicious.

Our room was very comfortable and nicely decorated, I can not fault the appearance of this hotel.

Although we went as a couple with no children, I was impressed by the number of families there and they all seemed very well catered for. I would definietly stay here again.
