“Overnight break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014

A classic beautiful hotel with lots of character that have been carefully preserved and maintained. The room was modern but in keeping with the hotel style and was spotless. Fantastic location to explore Harrogate and visit the superb bars and restaurants. The restaurant felt a little impersonal and needs a more intimate atmosphere and although in hindsight I would have eaten somewhere in the town for the above reasons, the food was very nice with lots of choice. Breakfast was included in the room fee and was exceptional. Staff were very smart and extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family

A hotel in the great old fashioned style like Gleneagles, friendly staff, good food and comfortable rooms. You need to organise your breakfast to get everything coming together at the same time but this is no different to the majority of buffet breakfast services!
Wonderful location for access to the town and much to do in the surrounding countyside - give it a try, you will not regret it.

This was a good hotel. We are a family of 5 and shared a room (321) which was large, clean and perfect for our stay. The decoration in the bathroom was a little tired and the windows have seen better days, but it was clean, had plenty of towels and comfortable beds. Breakfast was amazing and the buffet style was adored by our 3 children who enjoyed the great choice. Pool and gym were perfect too. Only gripe was having to pay for car parking (£3.50 per night) and poor coffee at breakfast.
We had recently stayed at The Palace in Buxton, which was not as good, but we had a very good weekend here in a well run hotel with very pleasant staff. Thanks.

The Hotel retains a very old-fashioned charm from the Concierge at the door to the multitude of chandeliers dotted around. The food was lovely and the service very good for such a young staff team. The proximity to all the delights of Harrogate can't be beaten as everything is right at the front gate!

We chose Harrogate as a new place to visit and not disappointed. The hotel is very good, warm and friendly apart from one member of staff in bar serving Afternoon tea. Very comfortable room. We have had a wonderful experience.

Stayed on Friday 14th march for one night. On reading some reviews on here was a little worried about the standard of the room also read on internet about building noise near by. I rang the hotel the night before and was told by a very friendly receptionist that she would give us a room away from building work and a room that wasn't quite as old as some as none of the standard rooms have been refurbished.
The room we were given was lovely probably the biggest hotel room I have ever stayed in it was lovely. Yes the bathroom was old and in need of improvement but it did it's job and was very clean.
We had evening meal at the hotel I don't think this was serve in the restaurant as there was a large party in there. The meal was fine not amazing but perfectly acceptable.
We used the pool the next day which was really nice not massive but just the right size for a leisurely swim. Small hot tub and sauna in the changing rooms. Changing rooms could do with an update but again clean so fine.
Overall a lovely old grand hotel in a great location defiantly would like to revisit.

Dear Mkwe,

Thank you for posting your review of the Majestic Hotel. I'm really pleased that you had a great stay and glad we could reassure you.

The building works are pretty well advanced and right on the edge of our grounds so we have found they don't really affect our guests. They also leave at weekends and finish at 5pm.

Looking forward to your return visit.

Kind regards, Vince

Stayed for one night via groupon voucher was placed in a premium room which was modern and huge with balcony and bathrobes/slippers provided. Meal was good although would have liked more vegetables on main but breakfast made up for that! Attentive staff and lovely surroundings. V close to centre.
