So Mother and Daughter armed with a Groupon voucher head to Joe Rigatoni's. Both ladies have eaten here before and was ok. Now it was early doors and there were only 8 people dining, all of who were aptly placed in "window seats". Now these are very large concertina door type windows which in Summer can be pulled back, which is great for the summer, but very cold and drafty in winter, YES VERY COLD and VERY Drafty, that is why they asked to be seated away from the window and not a reason for the waiting staff to treat them like they had some kind of ailment !! or talk about them as if they were some kind of awkward customer.
The meal was OK, not great, but not bad, though the seafood for the platter was obviously co frozen and not fresh( being married to an ex-fisherman, yes we can tell the difference ).
Now to the Bill, dont try and put a service charge on everything including the Groupon Voucher as well you know thats not right. Then for throwing the tip across the counter with distain and making some smarmy smart comment, is not good at making the customer feel appreciated, especially as it was a 10% tip. They wont return, and remember the old "golf course addige" that one person who gets bad service tells 10 friends. So neither of these 2 ladies or their families will return, nor their friends ( all of which are locals). Nor will I will not take any of my business meeting colleagues here any more. Can any business afford to treat ordinary local customers like this. Well Harrogate has a wide choice of good restaurants so its no matter to us, as customers we will choose where and how to spend our money.
