We had a 3 night stay in the Skovarel lodge and had a fantastic time. All the comments listed tell you about all the good points and they are not wrong. The lodge and the surrounding area is perfect for a quiet stay. Jump in the car and there is plenty of places to visit within short distances or even abandon the car and just go for a walk. We joined the National Trust whilst we were on this break to maximise value for future sightseeing.

We spent a week here to chill out of which we certainly did! The lodge was very clean and equipped to a high standard, with everything you needed down to a lemon sqeezer. We stayed in the Evernia Lodge that had great views across the valley (on the days when it wasn't raining), and shared the decking area with an aray of bird life and squirrells. Hot tub was bliss especially after one of husbands 'short walks' - even the rain didnt put us off. Recommend walks around Brimham Rocks, Scar House resovoir and Fountains Abbey. The Royal Oak in Dacre Banks well worth a visit, had a very nice meal but you may need to book for weekend evenings. Overall a great place to stay away from it all but so much to see around you - will definitely be back.

My husband and I stayed at Spring Wood Lodges for a three night break to celebrate our anniversary. We had an amazing time and came home feeling relaxed and chilled. We stayed in Lileskov, from the few reviews that metion this lodge, we knew it was the smallest - but it is perfectly sized for two and has all of the modern conveniences needed to have a complete break. The site is very thoughtfully laid out so all of the lodges feel private and not overlooked. The lodge was immaculately presented and they all appear to be extremely well maintained. The setting is beautiful - sitting on the front deck, at dusk, with a glass of wine, watching the wildlife is lovely. A previous visitor had noted in the Visitors book that a cheeky squirrel stole a whole croissant from the table - we are convinced we too met this cheeky chap - we watched him run up a tree, deftly lift the lid off a bird feeder and pick out his favourite pieces. He did this every evening! we also saw rabbits and a pheasant.

This was our first visit to Spring Wood, although we have visited several other lodge parks, but it certainly won't be our last. A well run, well maintained, immaculately presented lodge park.

We stayed here for our honeymoon. It was perfect everything was to a high spec. Spending the evening in the hot tub is a great wsy to chill after a long walk. Watching the squirrels and bats is great. We wslked to Birmham rocks and even though the weather was bad it eas still a great walk. We stayed in the grondal lodge its perfect for a couple with a secluded hot tub. Perfect relaxing holiday and we are going again next year :)

My partner booked this for us and he did good! This place is amazing and went above and beyond all my expectations!! Having never been in a hot tub before this for me was my highlight!! We stayed in Grondal and like a few others have said, it was very private and in the evenings sat in the hot tub or on the decking - you soon forget where you are, the views were fantastic. The sauna was a great touch and worked perfectly. The kitchen and bathroom are fully equipped with everything and anything you could need, towels, tea towels, scissors, etc. We were very impressed and hope to visit again soon. Have come home feeling seriously relaxed, thank you!

Room Tip: We stayed in Grondal, which was a perfect size for the two of us and very private

We stayed in the Skovarel lodge at the end of April to celebrate our anniversary. Having not been before, we took everything, knives, garlic press, hair dryer, tea towels etc. On arrival at the secluded site a quick tour of the luxurious lodge showed that everything you should need was thought off, just bring food and drink. We even took a caffetier, no need. There was a cold bottle of fizzy and chocolates awaiting our arrival. The Skovarel is a lodge with two double identical bedrooms, four poster beds, ensuite facilities, fully fitted kitchen/ dining area with a flat screen tv. The living room has two double leather sofas, flat screen tv, DVD player and a decent choice of film and sounds. Immaculately clean, warm and comfortable. But, do not spend your time indoors, well not too much time. Outside there is the sauna, very easily operated and quick to raise the temperature. There are a few chairs to sit on the decking and enjoy the visiting bird life and squirrels. They do come very close, helped by lots of seed and nuts, remember to take some. We had woodpeckers, Jays, pheasants, finches, loads etc and rabbits. It was so relaxing, then to make things even better, late at night have a shower, venture down to the lower decking, remembering to take a glass(bottle) favourite vintage, pull back the cover and step into the warm, soothing hot water of the hot tub, lay back and gaze at the stars. Cool, warm and chilled. Did I enjoy the experience? Ohhh yes.

Room Tip: Just get any, they are all totally secluded, but the lodge we stayed in was excellent.
