Oh, how I bless the Harrogate Civic Society for pushing the restoration of this wonderful building forward. I knew the Royal Hall before it was restored, and it was always a bit worrying to come out lightly dusted in plaster...but no more! The dear old Lady has been restored to her former self, and it's a real treat to go to whatever is on there. I've been to several shows, school events and concerts, and love every minute. The hall itself is a visual feast (look up into the cupola; it's fabulous!) and the acoustics are terrific. The bar area is fine, and there are masses of toilets downstairs. The booking ofice is actually at the Theatre, just up the road, or you can book online. Our latest foray was to see (hear?) La Bohemeon Valentine's Nihgt, and it was just lovely. The Royal Hall is also of historical importance, and as such is well worth visiting.
