“Another Perfect Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

I have been to Sophie T's tea shop several times but never written a review so I thought it's about time I did. My wife and I have been to Sophie T's today and the title of this review says it all, Another Perfect Visit. The staff, Lyn and Emma, are always friendly and the atmosphere in the tea shop is relaxed, warm and welcoming. As for the food...where to start. Everything is freshly made and the homemade cakes are excellent and sensibly priced.

“Teatastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

Mums birthday, utterly delightful afternoon. Everything was exceptional, loved the mismatched china, knitted teacosy's. no pressure or rush to get you served and out of the door. Sandwiches are made to order , served with tea of choice and cakes and scones cream and jam on cake stands ... It was perfect treat for older mum but the place was just as pleasuable for the youngsters. Cannot fault the service and the piano player tinkling away in the corner was perfect ... Why wait for a birthday ... ??
Have found myself lured into coffee chains.. They want you through charge a fortune and out the door .. Can spend as much per head and be rushed without the ambience or quirkiness ... From now on I shall say no to the coffee chain and support the local teashop !! How did we almost forget the civility of afternoon tea ... Thanks Sophie t's for reminding me!

“Chilled, yummy, looking forward to returning”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013 via mobile

Decided to take my sister out for lunch, fed up of going to big chain pubs. This vintage tea room was lovely, such a pleasant change. Really chilled atmosphere and gorgeous food, lovely chocolate cake. Sat on the sofa so had our own little area. Will definitely return.

“Great food & experience.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

We received a voucher for Sophie T's as a wedding present and decided to pay a visit last Saturday. We knew we were in for a treat as soon as we opened the door & heard the sounds of a live pianist playing period 1940s tunes.
We ordered the 'Special Cream Tea' & definately were not disappointed! Amid the ambience of wartime 1940s Britain we enjoyed delicious egg mayonaise sandwiches, gorgeous mini-scones with clotted cream and tasty strawberry jam and the most amazing victoria sponge & coffee and walnut cake. Not forgetting of course tea served in china cups & saucers - perfect!
At £10 each the 'Special' is not cheap but the quality of the food & tea and the sheer brilliant of the ambience made this visit real value for money & excellent for a special treat.
Congratulations to Sophie for creating this special place!!
