Booked a w/e in a hotel specifically to this 'steam railway'. According to the timetable (Fathers day w/e) there was a steam engine pulling the coach and it even stated this on the board in the railway station. However, it quickly became apparent that the advertised engine was broken. No worries we were told, another steam engine was ready to pull us. Imagine our surprise therefore when a diesel engine turned up to pull us to Peterborough and back! When we got back to the station, the steam engine was ready...to pull the evening reserved special function! What's the point of going to a 'steam railway' just to be pulled by a normal diesel engine. A waste of 15 pounds each and a ruined weekend.
