Fantastic weekend stay. Excellent meal on Friday night and very good cooked breakfasts on Sat. and Sun. mornings. Comfortable, clean room and lovely shower. Very friendly, helpful service. We'll use this hotel again

Very nice lunch. Cosy pub, with a decent log fire. Excellent menu - lots of fish dishes, but plenty of other things to choose from as well. Puds were super! Price range to suit all pockets. Will definitely go back.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

A family get together in November. We were all greated with a warm welcoming. We all got the choice of rooms that we wanted. The rooms where nice and clean with the welcoming facilities to make a cup of tea/coffee biscuits where also available. The shower in the room although large the only thing was that if you like staying in the shower for any longer than 5 minutes the water goes cold. All rooms have a Television and also free wi-fi is available. The inn itself is very charming and in the evening we where all greeted by roaring long fires. The food was excellent and with it being a Friday there were plenty of fish dishes to keep you tempted. All the staff where exceptional. The only problem that we had, was that when we went to bed the night time security light shone right through the blinds, which did not help, I would personally suggest if I was to stay here again to take an eye cover to blacken out the light. If you are going here and think that there might be a cheese shop so you can taste the delights of Stilton Cheese you will be upset as there is no cheese shop which I thought was a bit dissappointing, but it is probably a good place to stay to get to other surrounding areas of interest.

Room Tip: Hard to say which room would be the best, just note how far the light from the security light get...

Having stayed once before in September I returned to the Stilton Cheese Inn. Withva roaring log fire and a warm welcome from the staff, not forgetting tje great range of real ales and varied and delicious menu it's definitely my first choice when stopping near Peterborough. Rooms are warm and clean, only quibble being the use of vertical blinds rather than curtains... But that's a very minor point comsidering how good this place is. Beats any chain style lodge /hotel into a cocked hat!

We booked the Stilton Cheese Inn because we wanted to break our onward journey to Lincoln and we found the place very welcoming and the proprietors very friendly.

Our room was classed as an executive room which was in a converted barn. Very comfortable, clean and newly decorated - if I have a criticism, it is that the room decor was a bit bland - a splash of colour would not go amiss.

We stayed for dinner and thought the menu very reasonable. We were impressed that the chef came out to talk to us to see if we were enjoying his food.

We were particularly impressed with the breakfast. How nice to be served a full English at the table rather than queuing for the usual buffet - nice fresh fruit to begin with and a good choice for cooked breakfast.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had a good walk around the area, not too much happening though, but we thought our stay was good value, nothing to complain about and if you are looking for somewhere to stay within the area, this is a good choice.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra for an executive room.

We were visiting a friend locally in Yaxely and needed a room for the night - so glad I found the Stilton Cheese Inn on the internet. Excellent customer service when we arrived, I was shown to the room even thought it was a busy Saturday lunchtime in full service. Lovely outside rooms, easy to park and was given the local taxi number by the lady who greeted me for our return trip to Yaxely- an overall wonderful service. This morning breakfast was also superb - I stay in many hotels for both business and pleasure and this breakfast was by far one of the best. Many refills on the tea and coffee and an overall excellent service. Would recommend to anyone.
