I made a reservation through the Harbour Thrills website (www.harbourthrills.com) the day before the trip.
The next day I took a 2 hour 20 minute train ride from Dublin with my family and when I arrived at Wexford they were not there. Worried, I sent an email (they were not answering the phone) and they called back saying they were not going out that day, no reason given. They said I should have called instead of using their online reservation system. Worse yet, their excuse was "what would you do if it rained?". Really? So you're saying that your lack of commitment to your business is a natural phenomenon? (It wasn't raining, mind you).
In this day and age, if your business has a reservation system on your own website, you can't not be aware of your reservations. If you decided not to open shop for whatever reason, you should call your customers to let them know. You have their phones numbers in your reservation system, don't you? Oh, wait...
Luckily we managed to have a very nice lunch in the Green Acres restaurant and headed back. Another 2 hours and 20 minutes later we were back in Dublin. The train ride was nice too, but 5 hours of it and €82 in train tickets just to eat lunch in Wexford doesn't seem worth it.
