“More hotel than hostel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013 via mobile

Probably the best hostel i have stayed in. Great value for money. Clean, friendly, almost feels like your staying in a house hotel. Even provided towels. From the look of the outside it wasn't what i expected but i was extremely and happily surprised with what i found inside. Would defiantly stay again and would recommend friends.

Stayed for two nights. Location is brilliant. Rooms were very clean and all the basics were there. Amazing value for money. Rooms are seperate and lockable with a shared bathroom. Would definately stay here again.

We stayed here on 1st and 2nd February for a weekend. We had a fantastic stay, the house was lovely and clean with everything we needed within. Close to the town centre and local amenities. Would highly recommend and will definitely be coming back to stay! Thank you

Booked this venue for one night only as we had a wedding in town. 10/15 minute walk into town. No staff actually based on site. You have to call a mobile number to gain entry. Found no problems with this. Double room was basic enough with the toilet being share between the four rooms available. TV room and kitchen on grouond floor. While basic enough we found the place to be spotless. Would definately recommend "staying in wexford" especially if you are basically just going to be using here as a place to put your head down.

I booked 2 rooms for me and a friend only to discover 1 room had been double booked which i only found out 4 days before. Since we still had one room we thought we'd share as it was st Stephens night so very busy plus short notice. We rang the number provided, brian answered. When we gave our names he hung up so at 7 at night we were stranded in Wexford. I can only assume both rooms were double booked but to make it worse i was charged for the room. I made a complaint to venere.com with very little help so i would like to warn other travelers not to stay here as i see another traveler has had the same experience.

I just wanted to share my experience with Staying in Wexford. Unfortunately we didn't get to stay so I can not comment on the accommodation itself.

I made a booking for 2 double rooms with Staying in Wexford via a 3rd party booking site (of which I've used successfully on many occasions and never had any issues with any bookings).

The booking was made nearly 5 weeks prior to the arrival date. Email confirmation was received.

However 4 days prior to our check in date - I received an email from the owner saying there was a booking error and we had no accommodation. Due to the holiday season (over Christmas) I didn't see the email till 2 days before we were due to check in. I then phoned the owner. He asked for our booking details and said he'd get back to me. So I emailed him our booking receipt. The next day (day before we were due to check in) the owner phoned back and said there was a mistake made and he apologized but had no accommodation for me!!!

He did offer the value of the rooms as compensation - but this has not yet been received ( nearly 4 weeks later).

So we were left with no accommodation (less than 24 hours before we were due to check in) and as of yet no compensation.

We arrived on a Thursday night at 6pm and there was no answer when we rang the bell. You need to have a mobile phone to ring the proprietor so he can tell you the combination code to get the keys to your room.

Otherwise, this is a great place to stay. It feels like a home, very well-lit and clean with nice decor. There is a washing machine (couldn't find a dryer) and a well-equipped kitchen.

Room Tip: We stayed in the house on William St, it was a bit noisy outside but we had an undisturbed night'...
