“Fabulous Meal for a Special Occasion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

We had a wedding Anniversary celebratory dinner at the Brandon House on Saturday and must say everything was absolute perfection. Our special evening could not have been better and the attention to detail was excellent. The setting was lovely, the food was fabulous and such a choice, there was something for everyone, and the use of fresh local produce was great. The service was also excellent and a special word of thanks to our waitress - Joanne - who looked after us with such professionalism and a friendly smile. The duty manager catered for all our requests - such as a projector, candles, seat covers etc. etc. all of which made our evening such a success. The bar staff and receptionist were also very friendly, courteous and helpful. Thank you to all for a great evening.

Myself and my fiancé stayed their last night for a one night break. We were greeted with a lovely welcome and were checked in quickly, also we were offered help with our luggage. Our room was comfortable, very warm but the unusually warm weather probably didn't help. We eat in the library bar and it was amazing! We both really enjoyed it, had a few after dinner drinks and even though it was busy everyone was still helpful. The choice of entertainment wasn't quite to my liking but others seem to enjoy it. After breakfast (of which there was plenty) we went for a lovely walk through the wood and the 5 senses walk, a lovely way to digest your brekkie

We have just returned from an unforgettable trip and stay in New Ross. Brandon House is a hotel that the minute you enter the grounds and gardens you sense a special caring happening this carries right thru to the hotel where there is a spacious well laid out reception area with lounge tables well occupied with a mixture of guests both foreign and local enjoying their afternoon tea or just having a chat over a drink.Homely I would say. We were met with a lovely warm greeting from our receptionist who checked us in with the minimum of fuss or formality (important when you have driven for 5 hours) assistance was offered with our luggage. Our room was spacious with a super king bed which was very comfortable to sleep in. A sitting area with very comfortable chairs to relax on when we were drinking our cup of tea which we made in the room.Nice large flat screen TV. Well stocked bath room with first class toiletries and ample towels. During our stay we had a very enjoyable hot carvery lunch and a truly memorable dinner which came from a kitchen where the chef and his team have a very obvious pride in their offerings to the public. It made me think of a comment I often make when talking about dining out in various establishments and that is "it is not a place you go to for eating experience" But I must stress that Brandon House is very definitely a place you go to for an eating experience as verified to us on seen so many people who were obviously local enjoying their meals and the ambiance in the restaurant. This is the real seal of approval in our book. The number of locals dining confirmed to us that this is not a one or two night wonder but a consistent standard this wonderful hotel sets for it's self. Whilst we did not partake in the after dinner entertainment which took place in the bar we did see all there were having a great time. Breakfast is served from a hot buffet table as well as an excellent range of fresh fruits and breads etc.The health spa looked to be a superb facility which was very busy both days.
Look out for some of the fantastic paintings in various locations throughout the hotel they really are a treat! There has to be a story behind the selection.
The staff without exception were what any hotel would be proud to have.
We were fortunate enough to meet the hotel manger (Bettie - Marie) who shows such enthusiasm for what she does that you can not but wish her continued success with what has to be a great asset to New Ross and it's environs.
in summary we would say this hotel has all the characteristics charm and services that gives one every reason to say "we shall return".
Thank you all.

Two night stay, beautiful location and convenient to town, we eat in the Gallery Restaurant the second night. excellent food and service with plenty of atmosphere due to the large selection of original art. The bedrooms we were in were clean and adequate but pretty ordinary but I understand they are pending refurbishment and have no doubt that this will give them a badly needed lift.

Room Tip: Get one overlooking the river, some have great views of the countryside.

Stayed here for 1 night. I found the rooms quite small and cramped. Bathroom was very tired with ceiling paint inside the shower coming off in chunks. When using the shower the pipes made tremendous banging that would wake the dead but in saying that the water pressure was very good.
Dined in the bar- Seafood chowder was very good as was ceaser salad. Service a little slow but overall a good experience dining.
Would stop again for food but not to stay the quality of the rooms for the room rates would put me off

I lived in New Ross for some years and always liked this hotel, and it's now a pleasure to stay here as a visitor. It's friendly, clean, comfortable and efficient. Our room was quiet, spacious and well furnished. The Spa and swimming pool are good. So are the breakfasts. We had one dinner in the hotel and were most impressed. There was a wedding for nearly two hundred people in the hotel, yet they managed to continue to provide full service in the public dining room and serve a very good three course meal without delay.

The hotel is set in pleasant gardens. The town centre is a few minutes walk away along a busy main road.
